Responsibilities & Context:

 JOB CONTEXT

This is a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient handling of international shipments for the organization. This position demands expertise in supply chain management, international trade, and strong coordination with various stakeholders including freight forwarders, clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents, and internal teams. The role requires timely resolution of critical issues, effective cost management, and the ability to keep key project stakeholders informed on delivery timelines. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive shipment solutions, addressing and resolving critical or abnormal issues related to international shipments.

  • Act as a point of escalation for any urgent matters involving supply chain disruptions or delays.

  • Manage Proforma Invoices (PI) and Letters of Credit (LC), ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.

  • Coordinate with banks and customers for proper documentation and timely processing of LCs.

  • Negotiate rates and terms with freight forwarders to ensure cost-effective and efficient shipping solutions.

  • Establish long-term relationships with shipping partners to optimize freight arrangements.

  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of shipments, including preparation of all necessary documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.

  • Ensure accuracy in customs documentation to prevent delays in clearance.

  • Monitor and coordinate with C&F agents to facilitate timely clearance of goods at customs.

  • Ensure compliance with local customs regulations and timely submission of required documents.

  • Provide weekly updates to the project team regarding the status of deliveries, ensuring that any delays or challenges are communicated and resolved proactively.

  • Prepare detailed costing reports for all shipments, analyzing freight costs, customs duties, and any other charges to ensure accurate budget forecasting.

  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to reconcile costs and optimize shipment budgets.
