∎ The Manager / Assistant Manager / Senior Designer holds the accountability for the design and development projects of customers within the retail, lifestyle, sportwear and corporate categories. The incumbent will define the design direction for the fashion season, attend overseas sourcing trips, manage product development, train, and manage a team of fashion designers/product developers.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and Product Development
∎ Responsible for product direction, and delivery of collections per season which is every 2 months that represents the very latest trends across Womenswear and Menswear Jersey categories.
∎ Responsible for category strategy; Jerseywear - across all divisions and product categories to push boundaries in design & development to give the best proposals as per key customer interests.
∎ Understanding of the customer product preferences and profile to aid proposals and sample selection to therefore increase the hit rate of selections to order by 50%.
∎ Set timelines for the team for design research and development and push to achieve it.
∎ Drive, manage & engage your team ensuring they are clear on the direction and purpose. Set goals & targets aligned with the customer needs & timeline.
∎ Increase efficiency of the team, apply critical thinking and research to produce commercial designs which can be appropriate to multiple customers and requirements and bring in sales for the company.
∎ Manage design collaboration with the vendors in Bangladesh, assign product category accordingly to the strength of each supplier and guide the team to follow accordingly and build a strong product development collaboration.
∎ Conduct regular meetings and visit the factories.
∎ Manage, motivate, and train a team of 4 to 5 designers & developers to deliver best in class products and ideas.
∎ Full responsibility for planning calendar for inspiration, collections, presentation & sourcing travels.
∎ Set simple work processes which gives maximum result and less waste of resources.
∎ Stay up to date with fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market competition and use the market insights to make informed design decisions.
∎ Business Development and Marketing:
∎ Build strong working relationships with the respective Business Unit to regularly go through customer running products, understand their customer requirements and coordinate design activities and future growth plan.
∎ Follow-up on product development with the merchandising team of key customers, ensuring all developments meet customer requirement in terms of look, fit, fabric handle, color & embellishments.
∎ Build up relationships with customers, communicate clearly and have the ownership in dealing with them on product /design /fit related areas, discuss seasonally on fabric requirements, design, and products.
∎ Maintain samples with picture/detail/price sent out to the sales team, customers, or management for marketing purposes.
∎ Regular visits to customers for close interaction, and development purposes.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 7 years' experience in fashion design, with a proven track record of managing design teams and delivering successful products.
∎ In-depth knowledge of current fashion trends, materials, brand aesthetics, customer preferences, global buying patterns, commercialization, and production processes.
∎ High level proficiency in Design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
∎ Both Local and Expatriate applications are invited for the post

∎ Strong creative and design skills, including an excellent eye for detail, color, and style.
∎ Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
∎ Business acumen and an understanding of the financial aspects of product development and design.
∎ Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic industry.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic.
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection.
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently.
