Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) is focused on strengthening its media engagement through the Public Relations Department to enhance brand visibility and corporate reputation both locally and internationally. The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Media Relations will be a key member of this department, responsible for developing and implementing strategic media relations plans aligned with MGI’s overall communication objectives.

This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with externals, managing media events such as press conferences and interviews, and proactively pitching stories to secure positive coverage. The position also requires monitoring and analysing media trends and coverage to provide actionable insights and ensure consistent, accurate communication. By optimizing media outreach and measuring impact, the role supports MGI’s goal of maximizing its Share of Voice and reinforcing its position in the market.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media relations strategy by aligning organizational priorities and communication objectives in order to ensure consistent and positive media engagement.

  • Build, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with local and international media stakeholders, journalists, bloggers, and relevant public and private organizations to enhance credibility and sustained media support.

  • Collect, monitor, and analyse media intelligence and sensitive information through continuous tracking and networking to convert insights into strategic communication actions.

  • Position the organization effectively across local and international media platforms by applying strategic storytelling and narrative framing to reinforce corporate image and brand perception.

  • Identify and maintain high-impact local and international media opportunities through proactive outreach and engagement to increase organizational visibility and reach.

  • Identify, develop, and pitch newsworthy stories and thought leadership content to secure editorial coverage and strengthen the organization’s voice in the media.

  • Plan, organize, and support press conferences, media tours, interviews, and other media-related events to ensure smooth execution and favourable media coverage.

  • Design and execute a year-long media engagement plan covering traditional, digital, and social media platforms to ensure sustained and structured media presence.

  • Act as the designated day-to-day media contact by responding promptly and professionally to media inquiries in order to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of information.

  • Drive and measure targeted Share of Voice (SOV) in media by optimizing media placements and evaluating Return on Investment (ROI) to maximize communication effectiveness.

  • Track, analyse, and report media coverage by using monitoring tools and performance metrics to assess impact, derive insights, and support management decision-making.
