Responsibilities & Context:
Prepare and submit the monthly VAT return (Mushak-9.1) accurately and within the stipulated deadline.
Ensure proper maintenance of all VAT-related books of accounts and records, including Mushak-6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.5, 6.6 etc.
Manage and oversee all VAT Deduction at Source (VDS) activities, ensuring timely deposit to the government treasury.
Perform monthly reconciliation of VAT accounts with the company`s general ledger and financial statements.
Accurately calculate VAT on all sales, purchases, and expenses, ensuring correct application of VAT rates.
Act as the primary point of contact for VAT authorities and represent the company during VAT audits and inspections.
Prepare necessary documents and explanations in response to queries from different VAT and Tax Authorities.
Provide expert advice on VAT implications for new business initiatives, contracts, and procurement decisions to other departments.
Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in the VAT and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012, and related SROs (Statutory Regulatory Orders).
Develop and implement internal controls and processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of VAT management.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff and other departments on VAT-related matters.
