Educational Qualifications-

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, or related field from a recognized university.

  • Additional qualifications in Customs, VAT & SD, SCM, Freight Forwarding will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements-

  • Minimum 10–12 years of experience in C&F operations, customs clearance, import-export, or related commercial activities.

  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role at a reputed manufacturing group, logistics company, or C&F agency.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Chattogram Customs, CPA operations, HS classifications, Tariff rules, and customs procedures.

Technical Skills-

  • Extensive knowledge of export/import documentation.

  • Strong command over customs rules, HS codes, SROs, and bonded warehouse operations.

  • Practical experience in dealing with customs officers, shipping lines, and port stakeholders.

  • Computer proficiency: MS Office, email communications, ERP (preferred).

Leadership & Managerial Skills-

  • Strong team-management capability.

  • Ability to lead a high-pressure operation environment.

  • Strong negotiation and liaison skills.

  • Ability to identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities & Context:

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented professional for the position of Assistant General Manager (AGM) – C&F Office, to lead and supervise all activities related to customs clearance, port operations, import–export documentation, liaison with stakeholders, and ensuring timely and compliant handling of shipments at our Chattogram C&F office.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a large operational team, solving port-related challenges, and safeguarding the company’s interests in all commercial and logistics processes.

Operational Management-

  • Lead, supervise, and monitor all C&F operations at Chattogram Port.

  • Ensure smooth handling of import and export consignments, from documentation to final release.

  • Maintain strict compliance with customs rules, port regulations, and relevant trade laws.

  • Ensure timely submission of all required documents (Bill of Entry, Bill of Lading, etc.).

  • Oversee customs assessment, physical examination, and clearance procedures.

Documentation & Compliance-

  • Review and verify all commercial documents (LC, Invoice, Packing List, COO, etc.).

  • Ensure accurate preparation and submission of documents to customs, shipping agents, and banks.

  • Ensure compliance with NBR, CPA, and government regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, SRO changes, and HS code updates.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination-

  • Supervise C&F supervisors, documentation officers, and port representatives.

  • Coordinate with internal departments (Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance).

  • Liaise with customs officials, port authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport partners.

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with relevant authorities.

Reporting & Monitoring-

  • Prepare shipment status updates, clearance reports, and operational KPIs.

  • Analyze port and customs issues and provide proactive solutions.

  • Ensure cost control, proper budgeting, and cost-efficient operational decisions.

Problem Solving & Risk Management-

  • Handle delays, discrepancies, disputes, and operational bottlenecks.

  • Resolve documentation issues, customs objections, or port-related complications.

  • Ensure safe custody of company documents and avoid risks of financial loss.
