Support and contribute to the review and development of Strategic Plan and annual Delivery Plan; including assisting with the coordination of the mid-term review of the Strategic Plan.
Guide and support Divisions in design, planning, and delivery of microfinance unit to ensure they achieve strategic and performance results.
New Product development with feasibility study and financial model.
Incentive Model Development.
Tapping into untapped markets.
Baseline study for formulating strategy for business growth.
Market research.
Undertake research, where and when necessary, on issues of strategic importance and relevance to the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
Credit Risk Management
Assess borrower repayment capacity through credit appraisal and group-lending methodologies.
Monitor loan portfolio quality (e.g., PAR - Portfolio at Risk).
Set and enforce credit policies, limits, and underwriting standards.
Ensure diversification across geography, sectors, and borrower groups.
Operational Risk Management
Identify and mitigate risks arising from staff misconduct, fraud, errors, and weak internal processes.
Implement strong internal controls, field monitoring, and audits.
Coordinate to Digitize loan disbursement and collection to reduce cash handling risks.
Market Risk Management
Monitor interest rate Fluctuations that may affect sustainability.
Ensure alignment between liabilities (borrowings from banks/investors) and assets (loans to clients).
Compliance & Regulatory Risk
Ensure the MFI complies with local central bank/MFI regulatory authority guidelines.
Follow responsible lending practices to avoid over-indebtedness of clients.
Implement anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies.
Risk Mitigation: Developing and implementing strategies and controls to reduce or eliminate risks, including:
Diversification: Spreading investments and loan portfolios across different industries and borrowers to avoid concentration risk.
Internal Controls: Establishing robust policies and procedures to prevent fraud, errors, and non-compliance.
Third-Party Risk Management: Assessing and managing risks associated with vendors and external partners.
Prepare & submit monthly risk report of microfinance operation.
Prepare Risk Management Guideline for microfinance operation & review it quarterly.
