∎ Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
∎ Minimum 10 years of experience preferably as an Art Director or similar position in the development, nonprofit, or corporate sustainability sectors.
∎ Must have experience in Typography, Layout & Phototyping.Preferred Key Competencies:
∎ A strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership and impactful design for social or development causes.
∎ Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva Pro, etc.).
∎ Experience with multimedia production (video, animation, illustration) is a strong asset.
∎ Excellent collaboration and project management skills.
∎ Familiarity with financial inclusion, microfinance programs, or gender-responsive design.
∎ Knowledge of local cultural contexts and visual languages.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conceptualize and execute high-impact visual campaigns aligned with the project’s values of sustainability, inclusion, and economic empowerment.
∎ Lead the design and production of visual content including reports, infographics, social media assets, community materials, signage, and event visuals.
∎ Oversee the creative process from concept through execution, ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibility.Brand Identity Management:
∎ Work closely with the Branding Expert to maintain and evolve a coherent brand identity across all platforms and touchpoints.
∎ Ensure adherence to branding guidelines while allowing space for culturally relevant and localized creative expression.Team & Vendor Coordination:
∎ Supervise and mentor a small creative/design team or coordinate with freelancers, illustrators, videographers, and design studios.
∎ Review and approve all creative deliverables, ensuring alignment with the project’s strategic objectives.Community & Donor Engagement:
∎ Co-create visual materials with community input to ensure representation and relevance.
∎ Develop compelling donor-focused visual storytelling assets, including pitch decks, donor reports, and visual case studies. Innovation & Sustainability:
∎ Promote sustainable design practices (e.g., eco-friendly printing, minimalist design, digital-first content).
∎ Integrate local art, culture, and voices into visual materials to foster inclusivity and cultural relevance.
∎ Position Summary:
∎ The Art Director will lead the visual storytelling, design aesthetics, and overall creative direction of the Project’s communications. The ideal candidate will combine artistic vision with a deep understanding of community-centered design and sustainable branding. This role requires balancing creativity with messaging discipline to support inclusive microfinance, environmental stewardship, and community resilience.
