Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in advocacy, policy engagement, and capacity building, preferably in the field of civic engagement and governance.
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing advocacy strategies, influencing policy decisions, and working with CSOs and local government stakeholders.
Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies that align with the project’s goals of promoting citizen participation in local governance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, policymakers, community leaders, CSOs, and media to promote project objectives and influence policy reforms.
Organize advocacy campaigns, training/meetings, public dialogues, and other events to raise awareness about civic rights, good governance, and social accountability.
Design and deliver capacity-building workshops and training programs for local CSOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), youth networks, and local government officials on topics such as advocacy, governance, M&E, and civic participation.
Develop training materials and tools to strengthen the organizational capacity of CSOs, focusing on advocacy skills, monitoring public services, and using social accountability mechanisms.
Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to project partners, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to engage in effective advocacy and participate in local governance.
Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure alignment between advocacy initiatives and overall project goals.
Facilitate networking and collaboration among CSOs/CBOs, youth networks, and local government institutions to promote joint advocacy actions and amplify their collective voices.
Advocate for inclusive policies that ensure marginalized groups, including women and persons with disabilities, are involved in decision-making processes at all levels.
Proven experience in facilitating workshops/training sessions and the ability to organize and conduct effective capacity-building activities for project teams and stakeholders.
Prepare timely and high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key advocacy achievements, outcomes, and recommendations for policy changes.
Maintain records of training sessions, participant feedback, and follow-up activities to ensure continuous improvement of capacity-building efforts.
