Job Context:

∎ Possible Contract Start: 01 April 2021
∎ Contract Duration: till 31 March 2022 (can be extended based on performance)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Accounts Officer provides support in:
∎ ensuring internal control planning, performing IC in projects/error sheet, monitoring correction of findings and archiving the reports in line with GIZ guidelines
∎ dealing with all questions from projects/ office arising in the areas of arranging, locating and facilitate payments
∎ receiving the invoices from vendors / projects
∎ ensure archiving vouchers; journals and IC files in accordance to the GIZ guidelines
∎ effectively coordinating with the staff of the finance team at the projects and office
∎ deputizing the finance colleagues as needed
∎ B. Tasks:
∎ Accounts Officer performs the following tasks:
∎ Accounting and Financial services:
∎ Accounts Officer is responsible to:
∎ checking the invoices for compliance the guideline and signing the arithmetical correctness
∎ archiving and labelling the vouchers, journals and other relevant documents in line with GIZ financial and accounting guidelines
∎ use the winpaccs software for accounting
∎ dealing with bank for day to day activities
∎ provide the cost/income and receivable statement from office journal to projects on monthly basis, answer any question on it and follow-up acknowledgement from project
∎ Internal control
∎ Accounts Officer is responsible to:
∎ preparing the error sheet and compilation on yearly basis
∎ follow up with the projects for obtaining the IC completion report
∎ ensuring the documentation of the audit evidences
∎ supporting for preparation during the external audit and internal control from GIZ HQ
∎ General services for GIZ-assisted projects/ programmes
∎ Accounts Officer is responsible to:
∎ collect VAT challans in line with vouchers for reimbursement of VAT refund from government
∎ collect copy of invoices, original VAT challans / fuel coupons, preparing VAT claim statement for submitting to the concerned government office for reimbursement
∎ prepare the documentation to settle the liability (tax-staff/vendors etc)
∎ Other duties/ additional tasks
∎ Accounts Officer is responsible to:
∎ photocopies and scans documents as needed
∎ is responsible for filing the financial / internal control documents and maintain the confidentiality
∎ participates in projects and finance team meeting to understand needs and ensure smooth supports
∎ performs other duties and tasks at the request of management

Additional Requirements:
∎ 2-3 years working experience with development organization/(s)
∎ In depth knowledge and practical experiences on accounting software (eg. Winpaccs, SAP)
∎ Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, MS Excel, Power Point)
∎ Excellent understanding on accounting and financial operations (bills & voucher checking, payment processing, planning)
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
∎ Excellent command of English and Bangla Languages
∎ German language skills will be an added advantage
∎ Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed - corresponding measures are agreed with management
