Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor/ Master Degree from Accounting, Finance or related filed.
Job Context:
∎ Association for Realization of Basic Needs- ARBAN is a non-governmental development organization, concerned with the fundamental rights and the basic needs of the people and registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) in Bangladesh in 1989. It was founded on 18th February 1984. ARBAN believes that all development projects and programs, designed and implemented by the Government, NGOs, International Organizations, UN bodies and others should be directed towards the fulfillment of the basic needs and fundamental rights of the people who live in perpetual poverty, famine, malnutrition, disease, deprivation, indebtedness, injustice, and exploitations.
∎ ARBAN has implemented a project title- "Education and Social Support for Underprivileged Children, Adolescents and their Families Living in Baunya-Badh Slum- ESCAF" & "If not now, when? - paving the way to gender equality in Baunya-Badh slum" / OPM/2021/25795 with financial support of Terre Des Hommes- Italia in Bangladesh and Otto per Mille of the Waldensian Church of Italy. The project aims to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged and marginalized children in 1 Dhaka slum, through formal and non-formal education, healthcare services and psychosocial support and also to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 5 - achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, with a special focus on children (girls under the age of 18). Specifically, it aims to contribute combating discrimination against girls and women by raising awareness on gender stereotypes and harmful norms for girls and women among children, parents, and community members and to promote girls` empowerment, by making available to girls, services and information on legal, health, education and training opportunities offered by state.

∎ The AO will contribute accounting functions such as regular cash and bank operation, bank reconciliation, voucher and related documents preparation and checking and budgeting, recordings and month closing following ARBAN, TDH Italia, Tavola Valdese and Govt. of Bangladesh policy and procedures, under the overall guidance & supervision of Coordinator- Program and Monitoring (CPM).

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The AO will be responsible for conducting, but not limited to, the following tasks and activities:
∎ Lead day to day accounting functions such as regular cash and bank operation, bank reconciliation, voucher and related documents preparation and checking and budgeting, recordings and month closing following ARBAN, TDH Italia and Govt. of Bangladesh policy and procedures
∎ Ensure that all expenditures and payments are made within the above-mentioned policies; procurement process is valid, has the correct documentation and is properly authorized. Prepare monthly, quarterly and half yearly fund requisition on the basis of the approved budget line of the project.
∎ Submit monthly action plan to the CPM.
∎ Check all bills/vouchers related expenditure and record all receipts & payments in chronological order.
∎ Work, supervise and monitor the expenses so that nothing is spent in an irregular and unauthorized way.
∎ Visit different schools of the project when necessary.
∎ Transmit financial statement along with all the receipts to ARBAN's Head Office on a quarterly basis soon after the end of each quarter.
∎ Ensure that the payroll and allowances are properly prepared with adequate supporting documents. Ensure that payroll and allowances are allocated and posted correctly across the appropriate codes.
∎ Ensure that all taxes (including VAT and Income tax) are calculated as per prevailing laws and deposited to the authorities in a timely manner.
∎ Prepare NGOAB documents such as FD6, FD4, audit report, approval of visits abroad.
∎ Regular follow up & visit to NGOAB & DC office to get needed documents and authorization for smooth implementation of the project and coordinate with different projects to meet the NGOAB requirements.
∎ Lead the staff recruitment process and ensure proper documentation.
∎ Establish employee files in the computerized system.
∎ Maintain attendance and leave management system and submit to the management.
∎ Verify and report on benefits payments.
∎ Prepare separation documents for outgoing employees.
∎ Maintain confidential employees' files.
∎ Update leave and lieu time.
∎ Issue Records of Employment.
∎ Draft contracts for different parties.
∎ Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned, consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.
∎ Perform any other tasks as required by the line manager or ARBAN.
Additional Requirements:
∎ The vacancy is open to national candidates. The applicants shall possess the following skills and experience:
∎ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel particularly.
∎ Minimum 2-5 years working experience relevant field /similar position.
∎ Working experience in any NGO/INGO will be given preference.
∎ Experience in working with different Govt. offices especially with NGOAB is required.
∎ Good teamwork spirit.
∎ Good in both Bangla and English.
∎ Responsible, flexible and adaptable.
Salary:
∎ BDT. 20,000.00- 25,000.00
