Job Context:
∎ The Accountant is responsible for providing and presenting financial information, assisting in key decisions, making recommendations and providing support relating to all aspects of the Foundation`s finances in accordance with the Bangladesh laws.
∎ He/she will also be responsible for the collection and preparation of accounts and the day to day financial operations.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to executive management on both strategy and operations
∎ Analysis of financial performance against strategic objectives and to develop recommendations for future objectives
∎ Maintain the Foundation's General Ledger including the preparation and inputting of accounting entries
∎ Performing various month-end procedures and reconciliations including monthly management accounts, bank, vendors, accounts receivable etc.
∎ Development and enhancement of systems of internal control including key operating procedure manuals, accounts payable function, and payroll related matters
∎ Preparation of statutory Annual Financial Statements
∎ Ensures the timely presentation of financial reports
∎ Preparation of financial returns to regulators as necessary
∎ Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the finance function and maintaining good working relationships across the Foundation
∎ Adherence to legal requirements and industry regulations
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Five years working experience in a similar role preferably within an NGO
∎ University Degree or ACCA qualified
∎ Proficient and extensive experience with the statutory requirements for an NGO to operate in Bangladesh such as Audit requirements/FD7/FD1/NGOAB Reporting requirements etc.
∎ Must have a sound knowledge of Bangladesh VAT/Tax laws and regulations.
∎ Sound knowledge of the principals of Corporate Governance and Company Statutory Requirements
∎ Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Office Applications including Word and PowerPoint
∎ Ability to thrive working independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision and a positive approach towards challenges and problem solving and in co-ordination with the Head Office accountant in Malta.
∎ Must be fluent in both written and spoken English (qualification certificate to be provided)
∎ This position calls for an ambitious individual, with a head for figures and an eye for the future
Salary:
∎ Tk. 64000 (Monthly)
∎ Revision of the salary will be done after 3 full months have been completed.
