The A-Grade Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing all pharmaceutical activities within the model pharmacy, ensuring compliance with DGDA (Directorate General of Drug Administration) regulations. The pharmacist will inspect prescriptions, dispense medicines accurately, monitor expiry and stock quality, and provide proper patient counseling. This role safeguards patient safety and ensures that the pharmacy maintains its Model Pharmacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription & Dispensing

• Inspect and validate all prescriptions to ensure authenticity and legality.

• Verify the correct dosage, strength, and duration of prescribed medicines.

• Dispense medicines accurately as per prescription and customer requirement.

• Provide patient counseling on dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage.

• Maintain strict adherence to DGDA and Model Pharmacy guidelines.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Check expiry dates and storage conditions of medicines regularly.

• Ensure removal and return of expired, damaged, or recalled products.

• Supervise medicine stocking, labeling, and shelving for proper arrangement.

• Assist in procurement by suggesting required medicines based on demand.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain all mandatory registers (Narcotics Register, Prescription Register, Purchase & Sales Record, etc.) as per DGDA rules.

• Ensure controlled drugs are dispensed only with valid prescriptions.

• Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory checks.

• Keep updated with DGDA circulars and pharmacy law requirements.

Customer & Staff Support

• Educate patients/customers about medicine use and health awareness.

• Support and guide sales staff/pharmacy assistants in handling medicines.

• Handle escalated queries and complaints related to prescriptions.

• Act as the pharmacy-in-charge when required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) from a recognized university.

• Must hold a valid A-Grade Registration Certificate from Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB).

• At least 1–2 years’ experience in retail/community pharmacy preferred.

• Strong knowledge of drug interactions, DGDA regulations, and Model Pharmacy standards.

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service orientation.
