We are looking for six motivated and committed candidates for the position of Women Researchers for the project “Women’s Adaptation Plans for Climate Resilient Livelihoods in the Sundarbans in Bangladesh,” an initiative supported by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) in partnership with Khulna University and Deltares. This project aims to empower vulnerable women living near the Sundarbans to lead locally led climate risk assessments and develop adaptive livelihood solutions.
Duties and responsibilities
Conduct house-to-house enumeration and mapping within 5 KM of the Sundarbans reserve forest.
Facilitate volunteers for data collection.
Collect and geotag household data on climate vulnerability, livelihoods, and demographics using Kobo Toolbox.
Participate in climate risk assessments with technical experts and universities.
Assist in validating data findings with women’s groups and community forums.
Support Women’s Adaptation Labs by engaging with women’s groups to identify climate risks and strategies.
Collaborate in documenting community narratives and adaptation strategies.
Uphold ethical research standards, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and respect for local cultural norms.
Engage and participate in other activities as will be deemed necessary for project implementation and will be assigned by supervisors.
