∎ Role: Data collection & support the project
∎ Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) is a civil society-managed rapid emergency response pooled funding mechanism that was created in 2017. Modelled on the Start Network’s successful Start Fund, which releases funding within 72 hours of a crisis alert, it fills a crucial gap in humanitarian funding. It is accessible to local, national, and international member non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Bangladesh to respond early to under the radar emergencies. Since its inception, SFB has grown to 47 members of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), and local and national non-governmental organizations (L/NNGOs), following a comprehensive mapping and due diligence process. Our current membership consists of 19 INGO members and 26 national and local members.
∎ Forewarn Bangladesh has started its journey in November 2019. It’s a part of Global Forewarn initiative under Start Network. In the process of localizing the technical capacity for Start Network members in countries, Forewarn Bangladesh has been supporting Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) Members since its birth. Forewarn Bangladesh is very much focusing on bringing the knowledge for SFB members to anticipate risks and be proactive rather than responsive to disasters.
∎ So, are you passionate about environmental conservation and community resilience? FOREWARN is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our River Bank Erosion Study Team. As a volunteer, you will:
∎ Conduct field surveys to monitor and document river bank erosion.
∎ Collect data critical for predicting erosion patterns and informing local communities.
∎ No prior experience is required, just a keen interest in environmental science and a willingness to learn. Your efforts will directly contribute to safeguarding vulnerable communities from the impacts of river bank erosion.

∎ As a volunteer for the River Bank Erosion Survey Team, you will play a vital role in gathering essential data to support our efforts in mitigating the impacts of erosion on local communities. Your responsibilities include conducting regular field surveys, recording precise measurements, and documenting changes in river bank conditions. This information is crucial for our team to analyze erosion patterns and develop effective intervention strategies. Your detailed and accurate reports will help inform community leaders and policymakers, contributing to the overall resilience and safety of the affected areas. Your dedication and meticulous reporting are invaluable to our mission.
∎ Start Bangladesh is committed to ensuring a safe environment and minimize the risks to children and at-risk adults who come into contact with our work. The consultant/consulting agency involved in this task will be required to comply with the Start Network Safeguarding Policy and sign the Code of Conduct.
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) is a national level NGO of Bangladesh start its journey since 1988. We seek an equitable society free from discrimination. ESDO is currently working in 49 districts through 112 ongoing projects in 340 project offices and more than 5000 staffs with 45 donors. ESDO is hosting FOREWARN in Bangladesh. Any kind of administrative paper will be signed by ESDO on behalf of FOREWARN.
