Job Context:
∎ TAHZINDONG an environmental and socio-economic development organization has been responding to implement project in the host community of Lama, Alikodom Upazila from October 2019. Since 2018, World Fish is implementing "Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity (BANA)`` Project Funded by USAID. This is under the United States Government`s global hunger and food security initiative, Feed the Future, and has the goal of achieving inclusive aquaculture sector growth through a market systems approach in the Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZOI) and Zone of Resilience (ZOR).
∎ Location of posting: Lama and Alikadom Upazilla, Bandarban Hill District
∎ Contract Duration: One (01) year
∎ Reporting: Union Facilitator (UF) will report directly to Upazila Aquaculture and Nutrition Officer and to Aquaculture and Nutrition Coordinator when required.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide support in implementing aquaculture and nutrition activities according to the work plan and scheduled timeline.
∎ Maintain relationship between beneficiaries and the project management through capacity building and technical support activities at the union level.
∎ Conduct ground survey to identify and select project direct beneficiaries through rapport building and subsequent need assessment.
∎ Collect information of the beneficiaries from the field and store it to the central database through KOBO monitoring tool.
∎ Maintain communication with different stakeholders such as local government, upazila fisheries department, upazila department of women and child affairs, upazila health complex etc. when necessary.
∎ Conduct training on aquaculture for the project direct beneficiaries in the field and providing direct technical support to the aquaculture practitioners.
∎ Regularly monitor the activities of the beneficiaries and assist them to ensure quality of the aquaculture interventions. .
∎ Attend meetings and workshops with the different stakeholders, funding partners and Tahzingdong to inform about the progress of the project activities when necessary.
∎ Provide technical support to the direct beneficiaries in case of arising any complication in the field with support from Upazila aquaculture and nutrition officer (UANO).
∎ Collect field level evidence/ case studies of project activities through photographs and send it to the central monitoring team when necessary.
∎ Attending various meetings at the upazila level and presenting the project activities before government authorities when necessary.
∎ Maintaining relationship with the market actors to help create market linkages among beneficiaries and market actors when necessary.
∎ Have to be travelling throughout the unions of upazila for supervising the aquaculture activities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Candidate shaving 3 years of field experiencein the relevant field in CHT will be given preference.
∎ Applicants from Bandarban Hill District will be given priority.
∎ TECHNICAL SKILLS:
∎ Skill of photography
∎ Able to adopt different smart monitoring tools such as KOBO/ IDK.
Salary:
∎ Monthly salary and other admissible benefits will be provided according to project and organizational policy.
