Job Context:
∎ The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is looking for qualified translators to translate reports, communication and knowledge products, videos, etc. as per below Terms of Reference (ToR).
∎ Background/Context of the programme:
∎ IOM Bangladesh was officially established in 1998. It has a country office in Dhaka, and has sub offices in Sylhet, Chittagong, Teknaf and Cox`s Bazar. The cooperation and collaboration between the Government of Bangladesh and IOM dates to 1992, when IOM supported the Government of Bangladesh to rescue 63,000 stranded Bangladeshi migrant workers in the Persian Gulf Crisis. IOM has been providing technical assistance to the Government of Bangladesh and relevant stakeholders on myriads of issues surrounding migration management to ensure safe, orderly and regular migration, namely migration governance, migration and development, counter tracking, border management, and humanitarian assistance. Numerous programmes on awareness raising, promotion of safe migration, rescue and reintegration, building resilience & social protection of the rights of migrants, skills development has been implemented in collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh. The largest intervention is in Cox Bazar, which is being coordinated and implemented by IOM to support the Rohingya population. Currently, IOM is supporting in the areas of Shelter/NFI, Site Management and Development, WASH, Health, Gender Based Violence, alternative energy and Communications with Communities, etc.
∎ In an attempt to create a knowledge and communication ecosystem in Bangla language, IOM Bangladesh intends to create a pool of translators.
∎ Duration/ Timeline:
∎ Ideally maximum 3 working days are allocated for a 10-page document translation. Deadline for longer/shorter documents are set accordingly. Candidates unable to meet such deadline need not apply.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide high quality translation services for reports, communication and knowledge products, videos, etc. as required by the organization.
∎ Revise deliverables as per feedback provided by IOM.
