∎ Job summary:
∎ JAGO NARI is a non-government development organization in central coastal region of Bangladesh. Main focusing area of work is women empowerment, Climate Change Adaptation, Health & Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction and Education. Recently JAGO NARI is implementing a new piloting project in education field with the technical support of International Rescue Committee (IRC). The project title is "Last Mile Education" and the donor`s name is Arnhold Family Foundation. The outcome of the project is ensuring quality education with platform-based localized and scalable solutions for last-mile learners and caregivers in crisis-affected areas in Bangladesh. We will work with the Dropped-out Last mile learners, their parents, caregivers, and teachers. In this connection, JAGO NARI is seeking a Technical Officer (TO) for this project. She/he will play a vital role in this project by maintain some responsibilities that are given bellow.
∎ Reporting to: Project Coordinator of the project
∎ Working Condition:
∎ Rangabali Upazila under Patuakhali District. She/he will visit the selected Unions under this project. Attend Project & JAGO NARI appointed training, workshop seminar etc.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, local government agencies, with strategic partners.
∎ Support the Technical manager to manage the Implementation partners (Local NGOs selected for field-level implementation and work closely with the solution partners (consultant contracted for testing and modification of solution/s to be implemented).
∎ Support to organize and facilitate different meetings, training, and workshops as needed for the project.
∎ Provide support in data collection, monitoring, reporting, and other required M&E efforts.
∎ Support to monitor, modify and refine classroom monitoring tools.
∎ Organize and ensure logistical support for workshops, training, and other relevant activities.
∎ Raise related PRs, and vehicle requisitions and maintain good relations with support departments.
∎ Support in monitoring and oversight of any technology-enhanced solutions & platforms, in coordination with Innovation Specialist & Technical Manager.
∎ Support in solution and implementation partner capacity development, communication, monitoring visits, and ensuring targets & deliverables.
∎ Support in conducting a standardized evaluation of project parameters and initiating feedback and improvements.
∎ Support engagement with key stakeholders: government, local stakeholders, caregivers, the education sector & different partners.
∎ Support evaluation of pilot through implementation partner.
∎ Support in the Scale-up Planning process.
∎ Coordination with other staff of the project along with JAGO NARI & IRC:
∎ TO will have vertical relationship with other staff members (Program & Finance) of this project so that a team approaches works well to achieve the project objectives.
∎ TO will have close communication with Project focal of IRC and JAGO NARI.
∎ Perform other activities according to the need of projects:
∎ Studies on various research papers and support to new research under the project.
∎ Additional reports as required by project.
∎ Documentations of best practices/ case studies.
∎ Risk & Responsibility:
∎ TO is responsible to his duties and tasks as outlined above.
∎ Ensure that all ethical issues of data collection, data protection & research are adhered.
∎ Target group do not feel isolated, rather involving them in project cycle to get ownership.
∎ Quality of service deliveries remains high.
∎ Ensure protection mainstreaming in all activities of the project.
∎ Skill & Effort:
∎ This position requires highly experience in technicality of education field.
∎ Able to understand the dynamics on last mile education/out of school student's scenario of central coastal Bangladesh.
∎ Able to prepare monthly/quarterly reports as per project need.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 - 4 years' professional experience in an NGO/INGO in education program with particularly focus on early childhood development, Education, skills development, and decent work.
∎ Sound knowledge on out of school students' issues, Early Childhood development issues.
∎ Strong English writing skills is preferable for the position.
∎ Field movement is required 100%.
Salary:
∎ BDT-45,000 per month and other benefits as per organizational /project policy.
