  • At least 10 years’ experience in the area of rights &governance, child and women’s protection activities. Out of this 5 years’ experience in a relevant management role.

  • Experience in community development, governance mainstreaming and/or (local) institutional strengthening strongly desired.

  • Experience in program design, project proposal writing and budget development &management.

  • Eligibilities:

  • Excellent knowledge and skills in R & G program development, implementation and advocacy.

  • A strong understanding of structures and management systems within service delivery sectors.

  • Excellent analytical, communication and representation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability for rapid analysis of very complex issues, strong decision-making, and translation of programmatic priorities into operational strategies.

  • Sound knowledge and skills on national and international level safequarding policies specialy child protection/safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Strong skills in higher level program monitoring approaches including use of systematic evaluation tools.

  • Knowledge of local governance in protracted and post-conflict contexts, and of gender and inclusion strategies.

  • Adequate knowledge and practical experience with conducting conflict analyses as well as adaptive context driven programming approaches strongly desirable.

  • Motivation and drive to develop and grow the sector within the country program

  • Strong personnel leadership skills, coordination as well as mentoring and training abilities.

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook).

  • Ability to communicate and write well in both Bangla and English is essential.

  • Solution oriented, ability deliver timely results and work under pressure and a multicultural context.

  • Excellent planning and reporting skills.

  • Sound knowledge & skills in projects and team management.



Responsibilities & Context:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is an NGO with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. lt works for social and spiritual development of the human community. Founded with the motto of `Divine and Humanitarian Service`, over last 67 years DAM has been serving the human community for improved living conditions enhancing people`s capacities to maximally utilize their inner potentials. DAM`s current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economic development sectors in Bangladesh.

Rights & Governance is considered as one of the cross-cutting sectors of DAM dedicated toward the right-based developmental approach. Slowly the sector is flourishing through its multidimensional projects & institutes based upon rights oriented causes.From rights perspectives, DAM expands its work to increase awareness and capacitate vulnerable groups of children, girls and women for prevention of violence. Violence faced by these groups leads to children remaining out of school and living and working on the streets, being engaged in hazardous work, face physical and mental torture, sexual exploitation and abuse, and human trafficking. Now, DAM is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Team Leader under Rights & Governance Sector.

Location:Dhaka. Frequent field visit will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsible for implementation the activities of Rights and Governance (R & G) sector.

  • Promote and implement policies and programs related to human rights and governance, particularly focusing on the rights of children, women and youth.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders like local and international organizations and government bodies to empower communities and ensure the enforcement of rights, while also managing project activities, budgets, and field monitoring.

  • Design, implement and review R&G programming approaches and strategies.

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of child protection projects and focusing on ensuring the safety and well-being of children and ensuring compliance with child protection policies.

  • Proposals development within R&G sector and program development.

  • Oversee the implementation of all R&G programming activities according to implementing strategies, procedures, work plans as well as donor requirements in order to achieve project deliverables.

  • Work with other sector heads to ensure that approaches such as Do No Harm, Conflict Sensitive Analysis, Social Network Analysis and Power Analysis are integrated to inform project design and implementation within all sectors.

  • Promote coordination and cooperation, joint action and sharing of good practices and lessons learned across the organizations.

  • Monitor program implementation against work plans and overall project objectives, documenting progress and achievements.

  • Ensure effective and high quality reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use capturing best practices to support program decision-making.

  • Conduct donor reporting, as required, in coordination with other team members.

  • Assist in the development and realignment program budgets in collaboration with Finance Controller.

  • Ensure the proper management of program budget with respect to DAM and donor’s procedures, policies and requirements.

  • Ensure the implementation of project activities in line with approved budgets and spending plans.

  • Network and partner with the relevant local authorities, local NGOs, donors and other INGOs on relevant technical issues and develop effective partnerships.

  • Represent DAM in external coordination meetings with NGOs, donors, partners and government.

  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships, and network to promote program linkages.

  • Supervise and monitoringhead office and field office staff within the sector.

  • Creating and maintaining a work environment that promotes high performance, teamwork, trust, mutual respect, and empowers staff to take responsibility.

  • Lead capacity building activities for staff on rights & governance within the sector.

  • Ensure overall planning, coordination and quality control of conflict analysisand regular use of these approaches to adjust program interventions to the context.

  • Ensure that activities are implemented according to the work plan, ensuring a balance between the need for timely achievement of objectives and the importance of quality processes.

  • Monitor budget, develop accurate yearly and quarterly spending plans.

  • Ensure that all program staff operate and behave in a manner that is consistent with the DAM’s code of conduct.

  • Monitor progress against projects’ log frames and implementation plan and that the team has their individual work plans developed and properly followed.

  • Support the development and adaptation of Child Protection toolkits and curriculums.

  • Carry out any other necessary task as assigned by the authority.
