Job Context:
∎ ‘USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)’ funded by USAID, and implemented by CARE Bangladesh, aims to sustainably impact the nutrition and health of women and children in their first 1000 days of life. The activity will strive to achieve its goal by contributing to the areas of Strengthened community health systems to deliver nutrition, family planning, and health services; improving household nutrition and health behaviors; enhancing leadership and governance for improved nutrition; resilience of communities and households to potential nutrition shocks increased.
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As partnership with CARE Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA) at Rangpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Joypurhat District. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ Supervisor`s Position: District Manager
∎ CARE Bangladesh, a non-profit international development organization, is implementing a five-year-long project, "USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)”. CARE, with its consortium partners icddr,b, mPower, Jhpiego, and Viscom, will implement this project both at national and sub-national levels, and Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) will work at the local level to execute the field activities under North West Zone (Rangpur) Cluster and in the selected upazilas (all unios) of Rangpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Joypurhat districts.
∎ Under CNHA, the consortium will work with different departments of the ministries, especially the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) at the national, regional, and local levels, to improve nutrition status by strengthening the community health system and support the effective implementation of the Second National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPAN2). This will work at multiple levels of local government institutions, specifically with the nutrition coordination committees at the district and upazila levels focusing on the community health system and strengthening the Core Team approach and local nutrition-governance mechanisms. The project will facilitate developing solutions emerging from communities, government departments, and the private sector. The CNHA will replicate proven best practices to scale up innovative local governance models for better nutrition by transforming the Union Development Coordination Committee (UDCC) into nutrition outcomes. Digital solutions related to health and Nutrition services are key strategies for improving nutrition. The project intends to impact several of the core challenges selected districts face in the North (Rangpur Cluster), Haor (Kishoreganj Cluster), Padma Basin (Madaripur Cluster), and Coastal Belt (Patuakhali Cluster) of Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO), as a local implementing partner of this activity, is hiring Support Staff for the project office. The Support Staff will be responsible for the project office hospitality service and security.
∎ Ability to maintain multiple tasks.
∎ Support in office management, storage management, and documentation
∎ Maintain dispatch and receive register, and post and deliver the materials, logistics, and letters.
∎ Ensure logistics and materials support on time in the event-based activities.
∎ Support in photocopying, printing, and filling of office documents.
∎ Ensure and serve tea, coffee, and other refreshments for the guests and staff.
∎ Ensure the cleanliness of the office including well decoration of the office.
∎ Well behaved with good grooming is essential for this post.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ In the case of highly experienced staff age limit is flexible.
Salary: Tk. 15000 (Monthly)
