Responsibilities & Context: Job Context
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated professional to join our Commercial Department. The incumbent will be responsible for managing all import-related activities under both bonded and non-bonded facilities, including the procurement of paints, thinners, lubricants, and other industrial materials.
The position requires strong knowledge of international trade procedures, customs regulations, and documentation under the bonded warehouse system. The candidate must ensure compliance with all government, customs, and Bangladesh Bank regulations while efficiently coordinating with suppliers, C&F agents, shipping lines, insurance companies, and other relevant authorities to ensure smooth import operations.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling L/Cs, import permits, and commercial documentation, while maintaining cost-effectiveness and ensuring timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full import process for paints, thinners, lubricants, and other related materials under bonded and non-bonded facilities.
- Handle issuance, amendment, and cancellation of L/Cs (Sight, Deferred, UPAS) in coordination with banks.
- Ensure proper documentation for bonded warehouse operations, including bond utilization, license renewal, and submission to customs authorities.
- Maintain liaison with Customs, Bond Commissionerate, C&F agents, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and insurance companies for smooth clearance and delivery of imported goods.
- Prepare and verify import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance policies, and other related papers.
- Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions, and Import Policy Orders (IPO).
- Coordinate with production and inventory teams to maintain sufficient stock levels of imported materials.
- Prepare import cost analysis and landed cost calculations and report to management for approval.
- Monitor the payment process for suppliers, banks, and insurance companies in coordination with the Accounts Department.
- Prepare and submit periodic (weekly, monthly, and yearly) import status reports and statements.
- Supervise and guide commercial staff involved in import and documentation works.
- Ensure all safety, compliance, and audit requirements are met as per company and government standards.
- Maintain communication with suppliers, banks, and relevant government/private organizations to resolve any import-related issues promptly.
