∎ PROJECT INFORMATION:
∎ The Livestock and Activity, funded by USAID is aims to sustainably increase livestock productivity, marketability, and consumption of livestock products for improved nutrition and incomes for one million livestock-producing households and firms in the 23 target districts in Bangladesh`s Zone of Influence and Zone of Resilience. ACDI/VOCA intends to reach 1 million livestock farmers, 5,000 intermediary firms and entrepreneurs, and 25 large private sector firms to develop a self -sustaining, transformative livestock system. To achieve this level of scale and results ACDI/VOCA together with local ICT partner, mPower Social Enterprises Ltd., will use an integrated community-based development and inclusive market systems approach and will co-create solutions with communities and public and private sector actors, effectively leveraging their resources, technologies, and expertise. The component 3 of Livestock and Activity is Increased HH Consumption of Safe and Diversified Livestock Products, will work to address root causes of low consumption of safe and diversified livestock products in the ZOI/ZOR e.g., low consumer awareness of benefits, lack of trust in livestock products due to adulteration, poor intrahousehold allocation of food, and lack of access to livestock products. The component 3 is designed to increase 70% of HHs to consume meat and dairy products on a regular basis (once per week) and report accessibility to meat and dairy products year-round, and f or 90% of HHs to wash their hands at critical times.
∎ POSITION SUMMARY:
∎ ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Social and Behavior Change Manager for five-year USAID-funded Bangladesh Feed the Future Livestock and Nutrition Activity. The jobholder is expected to be directly involved in the design and implementation of social and behavior change communications strategies in the project with coordination with Team lead Nutrition and other team members. He/ She will support project objectives through SBCC strategy development, especially related to consumption awareness, trust building for livestock products, intrahousehold food distribution, hygiene, gender and youth inclusion messaging, value chains/market systems, and nutrition.
∎ JOB LOCATION: The primarily location for this position is Barisal but could be reallocated other location as part of the activity area if need.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with the DCOP/ Team Lead Nutrition, Headquarters Social and Behavior Change Specialist to develop a project-wide social and behavior change strategy and coordinate with the M&E team to put in place effective monitoring and evaluation indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies.
∎ Support project objectives through SBCC strategy develop as per upgradation of barrier analysis report, stakeholder's consultation and following previous activity especially related to Livestock products consumption, hygiene, gender and youth inclusion messaging, value chains/market systems, and nutrition.
∎ Conduct formative research to inform the social and behavior change communication strategy, including but not limited to barrier analysis, Viability and Consumption study, Household budgeting, identification of existing messaging materials, identifying priority and influencing groups, etc.
∎ Implement the Social and Behavior Change Communication strategy with project partners and stakeholders.
∎ Provide guidance and support for project staff on how to implement social behavior change communication strategies. Train Community-based Champions to be role models for changing behaviors and social norms that restrict participation of identified groups (i.e. women).
∎ Lead and train project team on how to conduct barrier analyses as a method for identifying behavior change-related messaging for the project.
∎ Develop and supervise gender-sensitive messaging and training materials for project activities.
∎ Contribute to the preparation of a yearly implementation plan - outlining the concrete actions to be taken by each strategic objective, with outputs and outcomes, related to SBCC.
∎ Write success stories and reports on SBCC approaches or interventions and provide examples of successes, challenges, lessons learned and recommendations.
∎ Collaborate with other projects, organizations, and institutions that are implementing similar SBCC-related activities in country.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of practical implementation and management experience in social and behavior change communication theory and techniques, preferably with knowledge of USAID's SBC approach
∎ Demonstrated experience designing and implementing social and behavior change communications strategies.
∎ Experience leading barrier analyses studies and internalize findings via communications plan and strategies
∎ Technical knowledge in gender and development, particularly related to food security, agricultural value chains/market systems, and nutrition-integrated agriculture.
∎ Experience with research methods and conducting field-based monitoring, assessments, evaluation and reporting
∎ Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Fluency in English required.
