∎ JOB PURPOSE: Specialist-Communications and Knowledge Management, Safeguarding, is responsible for developing annual communications strategy, drafting reports, making and disseminating knowledge products, and communication material, and managing the visibility of the programme activities to Senior Management.
∎ Location: Head Office
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare an annual communication plan and implement communication strategies and activities related to safeguarding
∎ Design and conduct safeguarding awareness campaigns in different field locations, plan and conduct digital campaigns using different BRAC channels
∎ Develop regular Information Education & Communication (IEC) / Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) materials such as videos, posters, stickers, flipcharts/flash cards for the staff, volunteers, programme participants and community members
∎ Develop and disseminate annual and periodic report content within BRAC and stay updated on developments in safeguarding practices, laws and regulations
∎ Promote knowledge capturing and sharing, including identification and documentation of good practices, cross-country and cross-thematic knowledge sharing through networks and communities of practice
∎ Ensure proper utilization of communication materials by monitoring visitation in a different location
∎ Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safeguarding like different periodic reports, meeting notes, safeguarding risk assessments, follow-up sessions, risk reporting and communication activities related to safeguarding communication plans and outcomes
∎ Ensure compliance of activities with the programme's knowledge management and communication strategic framework by following BRAC's communication guidelines
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge of safeguarding issues, policies, priorities and programmes in the context of Bangladesh
∎ Understanding of strategic and technical aspects of communications
∎ Skills in strategic thinking, PowerPoint presentation, excel and report writing
∎ Good communication skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Demonstrable knowledge, experience and capabilities relating to designing new communication materials and implementing safeguarding promotion actions.
∎ Learning and collaborative mindset
∎ Minimum 3 years of working experience in the development sector. Experience in social and behavioral change communication, managing social media, web portals for branding will get the preference.
