Job Context:
∎ The role of the Shimmy Upskill Technical Trainer is to conduct in-person trainings utilizing our tablet-based program. Upskill Trainers provide guidance and support to onboard RMG workers into the app and ensure trainings are conducted according to customer agreements. This is a great opportunity to utilize your expertise in technical machine training and passion for an equitable future of work.
∎ Length of contract:
∎ 6 months (15 June - 31 Dec 2023)
∎ Based on performance, the length of contract can be extended.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ A Typical Day:
∎ Collaborating as a part of our training team to rally around a common vision and achieve project goals to train garment workers and to understand the impact of Shimmy's approach.
∎ Fostering trust between users and Shimmy through providing quality support in-person in factories and reporting user feedback.
∎ Learning the ins-and-outs of Shimmy's product in order to provide the most knowledgable support to users.
∎ Conducting surveys before and after trainings to understand user backgrounds and the immediate impact of the product.
Additional Requirements:
∎ You Are:
∎ An experienced machine skills trainer or advanced machine operator in the garment sector.
∎ Accountable and respectful of boundaries.
∎ Honest and a clear communicator.
∎ Known for getting things done with tenacity, creativity, and grace.

∎ Motivated by doing work that matters.

∎ Comfortable with digital products and e-learning.
∎ You Have:
∎ 3+ years of experience in training sewing machine operators or 5+ years of experience as a multi-skilled machine operator in RMG.
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
∎ Experience working with factories in RMG.
∎ Excellent follow-through.
∎ Digital skills - Microsoft Office, online surveying
∎ Bonus points for:
∎ Experience collaborating with global, distributed teams
∎ Experience working with international development organizations or in local training centers.
Salary:
∎ $ 290/month
Eid festival bonus equal to 60% of monthly pay
All public holidays off (paid)
