Responsibilities & Context:
Customer service: Servers greet customers, present menus, take orders, and ensure a great dining experience. They should also be able to upsell food and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
Communication: Servers and other staff should communicate well with each other, especially between the kitchen and dining room.
Organization: Hosts and hostesses should be organized and have good people skills to ensure a positive dining experience.
Health and safety: Restaurant managers and staff should ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including regular inspections.
Inventory: Restaurant supervisors should manage inventory levels.
Food quality: Restaurant managers should ensure high-quality food standards.
Staff management: Restaurant supervisors should be able to motivate and train staff.
Teamwork: Servers should be able to work well in a team and remain calm and efficient during busy shifts.
Physical ability: Food runners should have the physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
