  • 5-7 years of professional experience in SME banking, microfinance, entrepreneurship development, rural enterprise development, agricultural finance, portfolio management, or related sectors.

  • Experience monitoring financial performance, capital recovery, collections, investment performance, or portfolio health.

  • Strong understanding of rural markets, entrepreneurship ecosystems, and small-mid business operations.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to build trust among entrepreneurs and community stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in Bangla and English.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to travel extensively and operate full-time from the field office.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Description: We are looking for a highly motivated and field-oriented Senior Officer, Enterprise Development to support the implementation of YY Ventures' venture growth and capital initiatives across Bangladesh. This role will be responsible for identifying promising entrepreneurs, assessing business opportunities, supporting investment processes, monitoring portfolio performance, facilitating founder development activities, and maintaining strong relationships with founders and local ecosystem stakeholders.
This position will play a critical role in building and managing a pipeline of high-potential ventures, supporting the deployment of growth capital, monitoring investee performance, and ensuring effective field-level execution. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship management skills with a solid understanding of small business operations, portfolio management, and rural market dynamics. The role requires extensive field engagement and regular travel across program locations.
Time commitment: Full time, paid role for 40 hours per week from Sunday to Thursday
Location: Field-based role in any of the program locations, including Sherpur, Mawna, Munshiganj, Panchdona, Kushtia, Dhamrai, Chattogram, Cumilla, and Thakurgaon.
Reports to: Manager, Enterprise Development
Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and assess promising founders and businesses through field outreach, referrals, local networks, and ecosystem engagement activities.

  • Conduct venture assessments, founder profiling, business diagnostics, and due diligence activities to support venture selection and investment decisions.

  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-potential ventures across assigned geographic locations.

  • Support entrepreneurs in developing business growth strategies, operational improvements, and expansion opportunities.

  • Support the assessment, documentation, and monitoring of growth capital and equity investments for selected ventures.

  • Track venture performance, capital utilization, founder milestones, and key business indicators to support effective portfolio management.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and follow up with founders to ensure healthy capital recovery and responsible utilization of invested funds.

  • Identify risks, business challenges, and support needs within the venture portfolio and escalate issues when necessary.

  • Coordinate and support training sessions, entrepreneurs development workshops, mentoring activities, networking events, and ecosystem engagement initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local business leaders, financial institutions, service providers, market actors, and relevant ecosystem stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor venture progress and document business growth, challenges, and support requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of founder engagement, portfolio performance, capital utilization, field visits, and program activities.

  • Prepare regular field reports, venture performance updates, case studies, and operational documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure timely and effective implementation of program activities.
