Experience:
MBBS degree recognized by the BMDC with 1 year’s post-graduation training. 1 year’s job experience in pediatric medicine, SCANU/NICU and child nutrition field.
Up to date evidence of current licence and registration to practice.
Minimum of 1 years’ experience practicing independently as a Paediatrician (i.e., does not require supervision).
Ability and willingness to travel to remote and insecure locations, in unstable areas
Previous experience of managing paediatrics complications often associated with humanitarian emergencies.
Advanced life support, paediatric life support and neonatal life support trained or their equivalents

The Opportunity
Save the Children Bangladesh operating a Maternal and Child Hospital to provide unmet needs in maternal and neonatal emergency. The focus of the Maternal and Child Hospital is to provide specialized Maternal, New-born and Child Health care with the provision of management of complicated deliveries, Emergency Caesarean section, Blood transfusion and care for the complicated newborns which complements their already pre-existing primary health care capability. The hospital will provide inpatient care for mothers, newborns, and children, with a specialist emergency obstetric surgical capability, alongside emergency and outpatient care.
The Senior Medical Officer- Neonatology will be part of the technical leadership of the health program, with a focus on child health. In addition, the role is expected to liaise with internal and external technical working groups and communities of practice. He/ She will work closely with other physicians on the clinical team and specialists and will have direct communication with SCANU nurses and midwives in the inpatient, emergency, OPD and delivery room areas.
