Experience:
Minimum 2 years of independent practice as an anaesthesiologist in hospital or clinic.
Proven ability to supervise, train, and coach staff, implement service improvements, manage change, and collaborate across organizations.
Goal-oriented, solution-focused, and responsive approach to problem-solving and overcoming barriers.
Sound knowledge of Bangladesh health system, humanitarian context, and child health.
Strong communication skills (written and spoken English); basic understanding of Chittagong language (desirable).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with excellent coordination and training abilities.
Ability to reflect on performance, learn from lessons, and implement improvements.
Willing and able to travel to remote or insecure locations, work long shifts, and maintain a positive team dynamic in challenging environments.
Experience working in multi-cultural environments and establishing effective relationships internally and externally.

The Opportunity
The Senior Medical Officer - Anaesthesia is responsible for providing expert medical care in anaesthesiology. This integral role encompasses pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative management, and post-operative care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including Gynaecology and Obstetrics. The officer will work within a multidisciplinary hospital team, contribute to the education and training of junior staff and may participate in research activities to advance the field of anaesthesia. The Anaesthetist will work closely with the OB/GYN, paediatrician, operating theatre staff. He/she will be the supervisor and leader of the surgical activities and will be in direct communication with the operating theatre team and the rest of the clinical team of the inpatient unit.
