Position: Senior Manager – Sea Freight
Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the overall sea freight operations, including FCL and LCL shipments for import and export.
Develop and implement business strategies to increase revenue, profitability, and market share.
Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas agents, shipping lines, NVOCCs, and key customers.
Negotiate competitive freight rates and service agreements with shipping lines and international partners.
Supervise booking, documentation, customs coordination, shipment tracking, and delivery operations.
Monitor shipment schedules, operational performance, and customer service standards.
Identify new business opportunities and develop long-term relationships with corporate clients.
Lead, motivate, and supervise the sea freight team to achieve departmental targets.
Monitor freight costs, profitability, credit control, and outstanding payments.
Resolve operational issues and ensure compliance with company policies and international shipping regulations.
Prepare regular operational and business performance reports for management.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Professional qualifications in logistics or freight forwarding will be an advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with substantial experience in sea freight operations and management.
Proven experience in team leadership, business development, pricing, and customer relationship management.
Strong knowledge of FCL/LCL operations, Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international logistics procedures.
Required Skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong business development and strategic planning capabilities.
Good knowledge of international shipping markets and freight rate negotiation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and freight forwarding software.
