Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Japanese Language Instructor (5–10+ years) who will also lead the design and development of a complete training and assessment program for candidates preparing to work as caregivers in Japan.
This role is not limited to teaching it requires building an end-to-end training system (Language + Caregiver + Workplace Readiness) aligned with Japanese employer expectations and programs such as the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) and Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).
Key Responsibilities
1. Japanese Language Training Delivery
Deliver structured Japanese language training from N5 to N3 (minimum), preferably up to N2
Prepare students for:
JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
JFT-Basic
Focus on speaking, listening, and workplace communication
Conduct interactive, scenario-based classes
2. Training & Assessment Plan Development
Design and implement a complete Training and Assessment Plan (TAP):
Structured levels: Foundation (N5), Intermediate (N4), Workplace (N3/N2)
Integration of caregiver-specific Japanese terminology
Cultural training: Japanese workplace behaviour, etiquette, discipline
3. Caregiver Pathway Integration
Align training with Japan caregiver requirements under:
SSW (Care Worker)
TITP
Incorporate:
Elderly care communication
Daily living support vocabulary
Emergency response communication
4. Assessment System Development
Develop and implement:
Weekly/monthly language assessments
Mock JLPT/JFT exams
Practical assessments (role plays, real-life scenarios)
Conduct final competency assessments aligned with employer expectations
5. Training & Resource Development
Develop high-quality training materials, including:
Custom Japanese language modules (N5–N3/N2)
Caregiver vocabulary and communication guides
Audio-visual learning materials
Assessment tools (question banks, mock tests).
6. Student Readiness & Placement Preparation
Prepare students for:
Japanese employer interviews
Workplace integration
Conduct:
Mock interviews
Behavioural and cultural training sessions
7. Program Quality & Improvement
Ensure training meets:
JLPT/JFT standards
Japanese employer expectations
Continuously improve curriculum based on:
Student performance
Industry feedback
Required Qualifications & Certifications
JLPT N2 or above (N1 preferred)
(Issued by Japan Foundation / JEES (Japan Educational Exchanges and Services)
Minimum 5–10 years of Japanese language teaching experience
Proven experience in:
Curriculum development
Training and Assessment Plan (TAP) creation
Highly Preferred
420-hour Japanese Language Teaching Certification or equivalent
Experience with Japan-bound workforce training (SSW/TITP)
Basic understanding of caregiver / healthcare training
Mandatory Selection Criteria
Candidates will be shortlisted only if they meet the following:
JLPT N2 or higher certification
Minimum 5 years teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to:
Develop structured training programs
Design assessments and learning materials
Strong understanding of:
Japanese workplace communication
SSW / TITP caregiver pathways
Fluent in Japanese and English
Ability to deliver practical, scenario-based training
Work Timetable
Working Days: Saturday to Thursday (6 days)
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
