• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Experienced in designing & handling Women’s Category is mandatory.

• Strong knowledge of fashion design, fabric types, and garment construction.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet collection deadlines.

• Knowledge of sustainable fashion.

Creative Concept & Design Development

• Analyze global and local fashion trends to develop new design concepts.

• Translate creative concepts into garment and accessory designs aligned with Sailor’s brand DNA.

• Conduct structured brainstorming sessions to generate innovative design ideas.

• Develop and present compelling stories, mood boards, color palettes, and themes for seasonal collections.

Range Planning & Collection Development

• Forecast trends and assist in preparing seasonal Range Plans.

• Develop style-wise collections in line with approved range plans and commercial objectives.

• Ensure design development supports category-wise sales and merchandising strategies.

Technical Design & Production Readiness

• Prepare and hand over accurate Tech Packs as per approved range plans.

• Ensure all artworks, prints, and layouts are production-ready and technically accurate.

• Guide the product development team to ensure efficient sample development and timely approvals.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Design, Marketing, Merchandising, Suppliers, and Production teams to ensure seamless execution.

• Align design direction with marketing insights and merchandising intelligence.

• Justify design ideas, trends, and directions through data and market intelligence.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

• Assist in sourcing materials and collaborating with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and timeline targets.

• Oversee product development with third-party stakeholders and vendors alongside other designers.

• Ensure supplier compliance with design specifications and quality expectations.

Production & Quality Oversight

• Monitor product development from sampling to production stage.

• Provide necessary guidance to Production and Quality teams to ensure design integrity.

• Address design-related production issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
