Experience:

• At least 5 years

• Bachelor/Honors

• At least 5 years

• Minimum 05 years of working experience is required.

• Retired Armed Forces/Police/BGB members will be given preference.

• Computer literate (Ms word & excel).

• Personal Qualities: Physically fitness is required. Candidate should have motorcycle driving license.

• Able to conduct trainings on safety and security for security personnel.

• Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

• Able to work in a team and respects opinions of others

• Assist the organization on occasion, in times of national, local emergencies or major disasters.

Personal Qualities:

• Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.

• Organizational skills, methodological and logical approach to tasks and problem-solving.

• Excellent skills in all areas of English, especially writing, including drafting skills.

• Good presentation, facilitation, and note-taking skills.

• Ability to organize, analyze and synthesize large amounts of information.

• Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration.

Lateral relationships

• Establish and ensure effective working relationships with in BDRCS MRRO staff.

• Ensure effective working relationships with BDRCS and UNHCR and leadership.

Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President`s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the Government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 54 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for suitable Bangladeshi national for the following positions under Myanmar Refugee Relief Operations (MRRO) at Cox’s Bazar:

Job Nature: Contractual (Candidates to be available to start from Feb 01, 2025).

Contract length: Up to 31 December 2025 (extendable).

Department: Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation (MRRO) under Disaster Response Department.

Reportable to: Deputy Director, MRRO, BDRCS.

Accountability to: Programme Manager, MRRO, BDRCS.

Age limit: 45 years (age limit may be relaxed for highly potential candidates).

Job Description / Responsibility:

• Ensure the safety & security system of the MRRO of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Cox’s Bazar.

• Communication with UNHCR safety & security Team and attend the meeting with partners.

• UNHCR Safety and Security updates are communicated regularly at the camp level.

• Take the preventive action in respect of safety & security aspect as deemed necessary for the organization.

• Prepare duty roster of entire security staff and ensure 24 hrs security of MRRO, BDRCS.

• Must be capable of lead, supervise & monitor the security personnel. Ensuring better performance of each security personnel.

• Design & locate the updated post in each duty post so that security guard should know their duties.

• Ensure to check & update all registers are being maintained in the security office.

• Liaison with all law enforcement agencies & local administration as and when required.

• Regularly conduct field visits to assess field site compliance with safety and security procedures during field activities.

• Monitor the security situation in the field, promptly and effectively report risks and propose mitigation actions.

• Collect and report information regarding politics and security in the country as well as on safety and security issues.

• Respond to security-relevant incidents with information gathering and report to MRRO, BDRCS Management.

• Gather security incidents concerning areas of operations and organize them in a security incident database (mapping of security incidents, graphics and data).

• Immediate alerts in the event of a drastic change in the context or significant incidents.

• Liaise with other humanitarian actors in the field in order to obtain information on the safety and security situation.

• Submit regular contextual updates (weekly/monthly situational reports) to the MRRO, BDRCS Management.

• Conduct regular security and safety inspections.
