- Completed Diploma (minimum 3 years course) or BSc in Nursing from an accredited academic institution, and recognized & registered by the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.

- Should have experience working in an NGO Health Project.
- At least 1 year of working experience in NICU/SCANU in a hospital.

- High degree of judgment and initiative; ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas.
Responsibilities & Context:
Responsible for:
- Provide specialized nursing care for sick and at-risk newborns.
- Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, respiration).
- Recognize and respond promptly to signs of distress or deterioration
- Support breastfeeding and safe feeding techniques (e.g., tube, cup, bottle feeds as required).
- Maintain accurate records of intake/output to monitor hydration and nutrition status.
- Respond promptly to emergencies like apnea, seizures, or respiratory distress.
- Assist in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill neonates.
Activities:
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment around neonates.
- Prepare and administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments safely.
- Monitor the infant’s response and document appropriately.
- Operate, check, and maintain SCANU equipment (incubators, warmers, phototherapy machines, ventilators, CPAP, monitors).
- Assist in insertion and management of IV lines, feeding tubes, and oxygen support.
- Educate and involve parents in the baby’s care, including kangaroo mother care and developmental support.
- Liaise with doctors, midwives, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and contribute to rounds and case reviews.
