∎ Completed Diploma (minimum 3 years course) or BSc in Nursing from an accredited academic institution; and recognized & registered by Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.

∎ Should have experience of working in NGO Health Project.
∎ At least 1 year of working experience in NICU/SCANU in a hospital.
∎ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the Core Values; Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust, and Accountability; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
∎ High degree of judgment and initiative; ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide specialized nursing care for sick and at-risk newborns.
∎ Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, respiration).
∎ Recognize and respond promptly to signs of distress or deterioration.
∎ Support breastfeeding and safe feeding techniques (e.g., tube, cup, bottle feeds as required).
∎ Maintain accurate records of intake/output to monitor hydration and nutrition status.
∎ Respond promptly to emergencies like apnea, seizures, or respiratory distress.
∎ Assist in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill neonates.
∎ Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
∎ Maintain a clean and safe environment around neonates.
∎ Prepare and administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments safely.
∎ Monitor the infant’s response and document appropriately.
∎ Operate, check, and maintain SCANU equipment (incubators, warmers, phototherapy machines, ventilators, CPAP, monitors).
∎ Assist in insertion and management of IV lines, feeding tubes, and oxygen support.
∎ Educate and involve parents in the baby’s care, including kangaroo mother care and developmental support.
∎ Liaise with doctors, midwives, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
∎ Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and contribute to rounds and case reviews.
