Educational Requirements:
∎ M. Com/MBA/BBA in Business Administration or M.Sc/MA in Social Science or Textile Engineering (4 year BSc Eng.) or Apparel Manufacturing/Apparel Merchandising from reputed University with good academic record. Job Context:
∎ The five-year long research project compromises five work-packages focusing on mapping the pre-consumed textile recycling opportunities and challenges, baseline study of resource use and waste, firm-level capabilities and costs, evaluation of the recycling initiatives/resources and corporate strategies, leading to policy and strategy formulation initiatives for Bangladesh Government, suppliers, and brands.
∎ Duration of Employment: The contact will be for one year but subject to renew on positive evaluation and need.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain office hours as per AUST rules
∎ Make field visits to collect and record data from buyers, suppliers, waste fabric-recyclers/waste clusters, and other stakeholders' using questionnaire and interview methods.
∎ Transcribe interviews, record qualitative and quantitative data, and analyze them.
∎ Draft reports on WP questions, and write case narratives and make digital report and podcasts
∎ Maintain communication with WP leader, project coordinator, manager, and project leader.
∎ Assist project manager in organizing seminars, workshops, PhD courses, and conferences
∎ Perform any other responsibilities deemed necessary to achieve project objectives
Additional Requirements:
∎ Have working experience in research or garment companies with strong skill in interpersonal communication, data collection, data analysis, and report writing in English and Bangla will be given preference.
∎ Skills and qualifications:
∎ Fluent in both Bangla and English in speaking, reading, and writing.
∎ Have high level of interpersonal communication skill in data collection from stakeholders and garment-companies using survey questionnaire and interviews.
∎ Have high command over MS Office, particularly in word, excel, and PowerPoint
∎ Have knowledge on graphic design, adobe illustrator or any other relevant software
∎ Have skill in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
∎ Have knowledge on using SPSS/STATA, NVivo or Leximancer or any other relevant data analysis software
∎ Have relevant skills for writing reports, analysis, and case narratives
∎ Have knowledge on website update and management will be considered an additional qualification
Salary:
∎ Salary Range (Depending on seniority and qualifications): BDT 40,000.00-50,000.00 (gross) per month.
