Job Responsibilities:
∎ Operational/Context Role:
∎ Agrajattra is looking for a dedicated Psychologist for our new 3-Year Child Protection Project in Cox's Bazar (Rohingya focused), titled, "Bridging the Gaps: Strengthening Mental Health Support for Children and Young People". Our planned project has three key components: strengthening the collective resilience of the Rohingya community, strengthening the individual resilience of children and adolescents, and expanding access to mental health services through the provision of psychosocial support and case management for children in need and at risk.

∎ The main responsibility of the Psychologist will be to support the Project Coordinator in the implementation of the project. The Psychologist will be responsible for providing standard Mental Health and Psychosocial Support to at-risk children and adolescents, or children and adolescents survivors.

∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ General
∎ Providing specialized standard mental health and psychosocial services to vulnerable children
∎ Conduct psychological assessments, testing and evaluation, referral, and consultation
∎ Prepare and maintain mental health notes and narrative reports of mental health activities (in the appropriate charting format) following the policies of records and maintenance of beneficiary confidentiality.
∎ Consult with other professionals, regarding evaluation and treatment


∎ Conduct individual and group psychotherapy regarding problems such as depression, stress, abuse, sexual violence and family situations in order to modify behavior and /or to improve personal, social and emotional adjustment of children
∎ Develop and implement individual and group treatment plans
∎ Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling or treatments, and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, then modify plans and diagnoses as necessary.
∎ Collaborate and cooperate in a professional manner with co-workers, implementing partners, other departments and other agencies in order to assure effective continuity of care and services.
∎ Conduct training to Agrajattra staff, field workers and volunteers on mainstreaming protection and other issues related to MHPSS.
∎ Other duties as assigned.

∎ Reporting
∎ Keep the Child Protection Project Coordinator informed on the activities of the project by providing relevant correspondence, reports and meeting minutes as well as making regular updates.
∎ Responsible for prompt submission of all reports to the Child Protection Project Coordinator.
∎ Prepare and submit reports on approved frequency to the Project Coordinator.

∎ Networking
∎ Responsible for co-ordination and liaising between Agrajattra and local partners/other agencies/local government/local communities/displaced community, as regards to Agrajattra's Child Protection project in conjunction with the Project Coordinator.
∎ Represent Agrajattra at the stakeholders meeting as necessary e.g. Child Protection Sub-Sector, Case Management Working Group.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 2 years working in mental health and psychosocial support programming.
∎ Experience in managing people/teams.
∎ Experience with start-up of programmes
∎ Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with marginalized communities.
∎ Knowledge of sector and donor guidelines in relation to child protection and MHPSS
∎ Experience in child protection in protracted crisis / early recovery a significant advantage
∎ Experience working in Rohingya camps is a significant advantage
∎ Upholds humanitarian values and principles
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla (written and spoken) and excellent writing skills.
∎ Rohingya or Chittagonian language skills is an advantage
∎ Strong analytical, reporting, strategic thinking and planning skills.
∎ Strong monitoring and evaluation skills/experience
∎ Knowledge of project cycle management.
