Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 283 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ ESDO is recently launching a project named “Providing Comprehensive Reintegration Support to Victims of Trafficking (VoTs) and to Conduct Community-Level Awareness Raising Campaign on Safe Migration in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar Districts of Bangladesh” as a partner of Internal Organization for Migration (IOM). The main objectives of this project is to promote the rule of law at the national and international level and ensure equal access to justice for all in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.3 by enhancing the institutional response to counter-trafficking in persons in Bangladesh and promoting accountable and effective governance mechanisms. The targeted primary groups of this project are Victims of Trafficking (VoTs) and potential irregular Migrants under Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar District. Reintegration assistance and awareness build up are two main component of this project. Among the proposed activities, the major assistance for the VoTs is Psycho Social support that has a significant impact to overcome the stress or mental depression experienced by identified VoTs. Here the close monitoring of each case also has one of the important role to reach the goal of this project.
∎ Now for smoothly implementing this project, ESDO is inviting applications from interested, qualified and potential candidates for the position “Psycho Social Counselor cum Case Worker”.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Directly engage with targeted groups in the communities and play a vital role for identification of VoTs
∎ Assist VoTs to build up awareness, getting up necessary support.
∎ Assigned for providing psychosocial counseling towards the VoTs.
∎ Keep track records of counseling VoTs and regularly follow up the progress to overcome from his/her trauma.
∎ Regularly communicate with selected shelter home and observe the admitted VoTs situation and also talk with him/her for any kinds of obstacles/constrain faced by them.
∎ Try to mitigate these constrains/problems with the coordination of project team and ensure that VoTs turns into normal life from the shocks/trauma.
∎ All kind of records related to this counseling should be preserved and always prepared the trend report to submit the IOM and ESDO management.
∎ Play the leading role for case tracking and management.
∎ Arranging courtyard meeting
∎ Case management and monitoring and keep up the records.
∎ Assist the IOM’s specialized agencies to arrange various activities like school based activities, IEC materials distribution etc at the community level.
∎ Conduct the need assessment of each VoTs for identifying their real needs
∎ Assist the district Manager to prepare the profile of each VoTs and also develop business plan
∎ Assist to District Manager to prepare the implementation plan and operation modality;
∎ Providing administrative and financial support;
∎ Directly ensure quality implementation;
∎ Maintaining liaison with project stakeholders and reporting to District Manager.
∎ Conduct the reintegration assistance with the coordination of district Manager and project team.
∎ Fill up the attendance and monitoring forms of the Psychosocial and awareness activities
∎ Contribute to overall goal & objectives of ESDO
∎ Contribute to the development, review and apply of organizational policies and raise issues connected with the Line Managements
∎ Regular networking and linkage with different district and upazila level stakeholder
∎ Regularly maintain close communication with all relevant supporting agencies and duty bearers
∎ Different events report preparation
∎ Ensure proper documentation of all activities
∎ Assist to prepare monthly progress report
∎ Ensure the progress as per plan
∎ Collect good practice, learning and success stories.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Having experience at least 5 years’ in a senior/mid-level position of international donor supported project focusing on migration/ human trafficking/ reintegration assistance/ human rights/ livelihood/Job linkage/business development, community development or other relevant development area.
∎ Must have team management experience and knowledge in-financial management, working under pressure and timely completion of quality deliverables.
∎ Working experience with VoTs, Migrated and trafficked Women, Youths, People and other marginalized communities will be considered as an advantage of the candidate.
∎ Experience may be relaxed if highly competency on writing skills in English and Computer skills
∎ Candidate must have community situation analytical knowledge skill
∎ S/he will have report writing skill both in Bengali and English
∎ Must have attractive presentation and facilitation skills.
∎ Having a valid Motorcycle driving license is must for candidature
∎ Skill in MS word, excel, PowerPoint, internet browsing is required.
∎ Carryout any other responsibilities given by the project donor or organizational management related to the job
∎ IOM or ESDO Management may revise the job description as and when feel necessary to do so.
Salary: Tk. 34500 (Monthly)
