Job Context:
∎ MJSKS is an NGO is looking for a qualified and relevant experienced candidate of Project Officer (PO) for Reducing Harmful Traditional Practices (RHTP) project.
∎ Funded by: VSO Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Project Officer is responsible for implementing Reducing Harmful Traditional Practices (RHTP)project. The Project focuses on improving the SRHR of young women and adolescent girls by reducing the incidence and impact of harmful traditional practices (HTPs). The project officer will provide technical support as partner representative to the stakeholders, execute project plan, conduct and coordinate training activities, implement, manage and monitor project activities, communicate with relevant stakeholders, prepare reports. The role requires working with project/partners and socially excluded groups/, institutions/NGOs staying at rural area of North Bangladesh. The project Officer will be reported to Deputy / director of MJSKS. At the same way he/she will work with the VSO Project Coordinator (PC) to ensure all support of Reducing Harmful Traditional Practicesproject. He/she will be deployed as full-time staff of Reducing Harmful Traditional Practicesproject.
∎ PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION:
∎ Proactively support volunteer to prepare Team plan and implement the Reducing Harmful Traditional Practices(RHTP) project.Withconsultation of partner executives, VSO PC and the Team leader.Supportdirectly to the (RHTP) projectvolunteers (National/International Long-Term Volunteers) for implementing the activities.Provide support to volunteers to develop institutional linkages in the project areas. Mobilize and strengthen Youth club.
∎ VOLUNTEER SUPPORT:
∎ Select, assess and make agreement of host homes for the volunteers following (RHTP) guidelines
∎ Be the first point of contact for (RHTP) volunteers on administration, logistical, cultural and financial matters during their placement.
∎ Coordinate with the Project Coordinator for supporting volunteers for the medical, security and emergency issues
∎ Actively support volunteers in the relevant geographical zone in conducting introductory workshop, facilitating process to develop work plan and other relevant proactive support regarding placement in consultation with ProjectCoordinator.
∎ TRAINING MANAGEMENT
∎ Support Volunteer to Prepare training and lesson plan
∎ Organize, conduct and coordinate training activities
∎ Training monitoring and post training follow up at volunteers and beneficiaries level
∎ COMMUNICATION/LIAISON WITH STAKEHOLDERS:
∎ Assist to hire expert organization, trainer to meet the technical support of volunteers for providing training volunteers & beneficiaries
∎ FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
∎ Assist Finance staffs to spend the project budget as per the implementation plan with quality.
∎ Assist Accounts personnel in monthly and quarterly accounts report preparation
∎ Ensure financial transparency
∎ MONITORING AND EVALUATION:
∎ Monitor and evaluate project activities and provide feedback for required action
∎ Prepare monthly and quarterly progress report and submit to the partner organisation and the Project Coordinator of VSO in timely manners
∎ Assist Volunteer to Prepare case studies, special studies, FGD,KII with project stakeholders
∎ As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Computer skills(Microsoft word/excel/power point, E-mail)
∎ Valid Motor Cycle driving license
∎ Ability to maintain liaison with the District and Upazila level government officials like; Department of Youth Development, Women Affairs Department, Civil Surgeon, UH&FPO,UNOs, NGOsand elected representatives.
∎ Working experiences inSRHR/Gender related project.
∎ Working experiences in National/International Volunteer management.
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Salary:
∎ Gross Salary: 27,500/-(other benefit according to MJSKS policy).
