Job Context:
∎ Job Location: Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (MoLJPA) at Dhaka (field visit expected)
∎ Contract Duration till: June 30, 2021

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Providing necessary support to the NPD for smooth implementation of the project
∎ Maintaining liaison with public officials, GIZ officials and other stakeholders
∎ Providing other necessary technical support as required by NPD and Project Implementation Unit (PIU)
∎ Coordinate with and provide technical support to the Planning Wing of the Justice Division, MoLJPA on technical and financial progress report
∎ Coordinate with the national and local level criminal justice institutions/agencies on project related issues
∎ Facilitate visits by International and national consultants and GIZ staff members to the Ministry
∎ Provide necessary support for planning and implementation of the National Justice Audit Provide support for organizing inter-ministerial meeting, project steering committee meeting and other national and local level events
∎ Management, Coordination and Networking

∎ Actively support in managing project related day-to-day activities in the office of National Project Director (NPD), Law and Justice Division, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (MoLJPA)
∎ Support to ensure that necessary coordination and liaison are maintained between and among the NPD's Office, GIZ Rule of Law Office on smooth implementation of project activities
∎ Coordinate with the Planning Wing of the Law and Justice Division; MoLJPA and GIZ RoL Teams for project progress report; both technical and financial
∎ Support NPD and DNPD in necessary communication and coordination with the members of the Project Steering Committee, Project Advisory Committee and other representatives from the relevant criminal justice institutions both at national and local levels
∎ Support NPD and GIZ RoL team members in organizing Project Steering Committee meeting, Project Advisory Committee meeting, inter-ministerial meeting and other events namely workshops/discussion meeting/seminars/consultation meeting
∎ Ensure that project related issues (that may arise either from GIZ side or ministry side) are properly communicated between the office of National Project Director and GIZ Rule of Law Programme
∎ Visit to the project areas, especially with the NPD/delegation from the Ministry and provide necessary support for smooth implementation of field visit, attend various events at field levels
∎ Assist the project team members in building network with different stakeholders, including but not limited to, legal aid organization and different actors in the criminal justice system
∎ Coordinate with the PSU, GIZ RoL to ensure that required logistics are available in the office of National Project Director for smooth implementation of project activities
∎ Reporting, Documentation and Knowledge Management:

∎ Keep project related necessary documents/reports and files updated
∎ Prepare minutes for Project Advisory Committee Meeting, Project Steering Committee Meeting and Inter-Ministerial Meeting
∎ Draft project related letters/circular to be sent by the NPD Office to other relevant government agencies
∎ Provide intellectual inputs for preparing talking points, speech for NPD/DNPD to facilitate their participation in different forum/meetings
∎ Provide technical inputs to NPD while preparing note sheet/documents on project related issues
∎ Preparing notes, speech, presentation materials, project reports and contribute to other relevant reports as required
∎ Support NPD in preparing response to the queries from different authorities such as Prime Minister Office, Finance Ministry, ERD, Audit Office, etc
∎ Supporting the legal research and study activities/desk research related to justice system in Bangladesh as required
∎ Contribute to the team member in developing concept note, outlining consultation workshop/stakeholder dialogue on justice reform
∎ Support project team in documentation and reporting of various events including workshops/discussion meetings, Project Steering Committee
∎ Support team members through providing information on new law, circular, office order that may be relevant to project related issues
∎ National Justice Audit

∎ Provide all necessary support to NPD to facilitate implementation of National Justice Audit
∎ Support NPD's office in issuing visa recommendation letter for international consultants on the Justice Audit and assist in organizing meeting for the JA Team with the key representatives from criminal justice institutions
∎ Support in coordination with NPD Office and the relevant criminal justice institutions to facilitate data collection process for the National Justice Audit
∎ Attend the meeting with JA Team and contribute to the planning and implementation of NJA
∎ Support to wider dissemination of the findings of the National Justice Audit both at national and local levels

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years' relevant professional experience in public or private sectors/ NGO/ Development Cooperation
∎ Experience in justice and legal sector in Bangladesh will be given preference
∎ Proven ability and experience in reporting and documentation in both Bengali and English is essential
∎ Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice sector, especially local justice system (e.g. village court, arbitration, mediation etc.) will be treated as an asset
∎ Working in the government project will be an added advantage
∎ Strong communication and inter-personal skills
∎ Proven ability in self-organisation, to work under pressure and deliver on time
∎ Proven ability to work as a team member
∎ Proven commitment to gender equality and disability
∎ Excellent command on MS-Office (word, excel and power-point), and Bangla and English compose
∎ Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication system
∎ Language- English, Bangla
