1. Diagnostic Examination: Perform gross and microscopic examinations of surgical specimens, biopsies, and cytological samples.

2. Clinical Pathology: Oversee and interpret laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and immunology (if CP certified).

3. Consultation: Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, and other physicians to explain pathology reports and advise on patient treatment plans.

4. Intraoperative Support: Perform and interpret frozen sections during surgeries to provide immediate diagnostic feedback.

5. Quality Assurance: Ensure laboratory compliance with all regulatory standards (e.g., CAP, CLIA) and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

6. Autopsies: Perform autopsies to determine the cause of death and understand disease progression (if applicable to the facility).

7. Education: Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and the training of medical staff, residents, or laboratory technicians.
