Job Summary:

The OT Technician/Assistant at Labaid Specialized Hospital Chattogram, responsible for preparing and maintaining the Operation Theatre to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. This role involves technical support, patient assistance, equipment management, and strict adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and the operation theatre (OT).

2. Help position the patient and assist in preparing anesthesia.

3. Make sure all OT equipment like lights, suction machines, anesthesia machines, and gas systems are working properly.

4. Check that IV fluids, blood, and emergency medicines are available and in good condition.

5. Keep the OT clean before and after surgery, including fumigation when needed.

6. Assist doctors and nurses during surgery by providing instruments and support.

7. Keep proper records of surgical items, medicines, and patient information as per hospital rules.

8. Follow proper procedures for disposing of medical waste.

9. Regularly check OT equipment and do small maintenance tasks if needed.

Educational Requirements

• HSC with 4 years of experience in OT,

• or B.Sc / Diploma in Nursing Science with 3 years of experience as an OT Assistant (For OT Technician)
