a) Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Film & Television, Photography, Communication, Journalism, Fine Arts, Multimedia, or a related field.
b) Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in photography, cinematography, or visual content production.
c) Strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating photography and video work.
d) Proficiency in DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, composition, and professional photography techniques.
e) Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop; working knowledge of Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
f) Good understanding of event photography, visual storytelling, cinematography, and social media content.
g) Strong creativity, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
h) Willingness to work flexible hours when events or assignments require coverage.
i) Preference will be given to candidates with experience in institutional/corporate photography, short-form video content, and educational or event-based visual communication.
JOB CONTEXT
The Officer, Photography & Cinematography will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content for ULAB’s events, academic activities, campus life, outreach initiatives, campaigns, and institutional communications. The role will primarily focus on photography while also supporting and coordinating cinematography and video production.
REPORTING
The Officer, Photography & Cinematography reports to the Head of Communications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Cover ULAB events, workshops, seminars, campaigns, student activities, and official programs through photography.
b) Produce high-quality photographs for social media, websites, publications, press releases, and promotional materials.
c) Coordinate and support video production, interviews, reels, promotional videos, and event coverage.
d) Handle basic photo editing, retouching, color correction, and video post-production.
e) Plan required shots and visual coverage in coordination with the Communications Office.
f) Maintain an organized archive of photographs and video footage.
g) Properly manage and maintain cameras, lenses, lighting, and other production equipment.
h) Coordinate with external photographers, videographers, and production teams when required.
i) Ensure timely delivery of visual content, especially for digital and social media use.
j) Maintain ULAB’s visual identity and communication standards.
