QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
The candidate must have a PhD in business, marketing, finance, management, accounting, HRM, or any business-related discipline from an internationally reputed university.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 12 to 15 years of teaching and research experience. Also minimum 5 years of academic leadership and administrative experience in a good-quality university is required.
RESEARCH
At least 12 publications in the Scopus indexed journals. Publications with international co-authors will be an added qualification.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Adept in using relevant application software, emailing, web search, and online meeting software.
LEADERSHIP
The ideal candidate should be able to lead the business school, focusing on understanding team members, team building, motivation, conflict resolution, and timely decision-making.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Applicants with relevant experience in industry and consultancy will be preferred.
JOB CONTEXT
ULAB seeks to appoint a passionate, driven, and innovative individual who will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to the Business School, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, industry engagement, student development, and institutional growth. The role requires an accomplished academic leader with strong management capabilities and a demonstrated understanding of business education in a competitive higher-education environment. The incumbent will also partner with other offices/centers/departments within the university on various strategic initiatives to support the university’s mission, values, and goals.
REPORTING
The Dean, Business School will report to the Vice Chancellor.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead academic planning, curriculum development, program review, accreditation, and quality assurance.
Support in Recruiting, developing, motivating, and evaluating faculty of business school.
Promote high-quality research, publications, consultancy, executive education, and knowledge exchange.
Strengthen relationships with businesses, professional bodies, government agencies, alumni, and international academic institutions to enhance experiential learning opportunities and secure resources.
Drive student recruitment, retention, employability, internships, industry exposure, and overall student experience.
Suggest new academic programs and initiatives in response to market and industry needs.
Manage the School's budget, resources, infrastructure, and administrative operations effectively.
Maintain a vibrant and participating environment for the faculty, students and staff of the business school.
Ensure compliance with applicable University policies, requirements of regulatory bodies and relevant academic and professional standards.
Represent the Business School within the University and externally, enhancing its reputation and visibility.
