Responsibilities & Context:

1. Assess and Evaluate Students/Clients

   • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students’ physical, sensory, cognitive, emotional, and functional needs.

   • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings.

2. Provide Occupational Therapy Services

   • Deliver individual and group occupational therapy sessions to support the development of functional skills.

   • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve participation in daily activities, learning, and social engagement.

3. Develop Individualized Goals

   • Establish measurable therapy goals in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.

   • Regularly review and update therapy plans based on progress and changing needs.

4. Support Educational Access

   • Recommend strategies, accommodations, and adaptive equipment to help students access the curriculum and participate effectively in school activities.

   • Assist in creating inclusive learning environments for students with additional needs.

5. Collaborate with Stakeholders

   • Work closely with teachers, parents, SEND staff, psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support.

   • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.

6. Monitor and Document Progress

   • Maintain accurate assessment records, therapy notes, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.

   • Prepare reports and recommendations as required.

7. Provide Training and Guidance

   • Offer training, coaching, and support to teachers, teaching assistants, and parents regarding therapeutic strategies and interventions.

   • Promote awareness of occupational therapy practices within the school or organization.

8. Recommend Assistive and Adaptive Resources

   • Assess the need for assistive technology, adaptive tools, and environmental modifications.

   • Provide guidance on the effective use of recommended resources.

9. Safeguarding and Compliance

   • Adhere to safeguarding policies, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and relevant legal regulations.

   • Maintain professional registration and participate in continuing professional development (CPD).

10. Contribute to School Development

    • Support initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, inclusion, and accessibility.

    • Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and organizational events as required.
