Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
∎ Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
∎ Assist with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and mobility for patients in need.
∎ Prepare patients for surgeries, diagnostic tests, or procedures.
∎ Assist doctors during medical procedures and examinations.
∎ Perform wound care, catheterization, suctioning, and other nursing procedures.
∎ Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including medical history, treatment, and observations.
∎ Record nursing notes, medication charts, and patient progress reports.
∎ Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
∎ Communicate effectively with doctors, fellow nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
∎ Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and aftercare.
∎ Coordinate with lab, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments for patient needs.
∎ Respond to medical emergencies promptly (e.g., CPR, code blue situations).
∎ Work in ICUs, emergency rooms, or trauma units based on specialization.
∎ Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, monitors, and life-support systems if trained.
∎ Follow hospital protocols for infection prevention and control.
∎ Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient care areas.
∎ Use PPE appropriately and ensure proper waste disposal.
∎ Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
∎ Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
∎ Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
∎ Participate in nursing shift handovers with clear communication of patient status.
∎ Attend ward rounds and team meetings as required.
∎ Collaborate with other nursing staff for effective patient care delivery.
