∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the overall supervision of the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, the direct supervision of the Principal Coordinator and administratively reporting to the PSEA Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing advisory and technical support, coordinating AAP activities across the response, advocating for the integration of AAP approaches within the operation, facilitating the development of joint planning and recommending tools, resources and global good practices. The incumbent will get support on leadership, information management, advocacy etc. from coordination bodies in both Cox`s Bazar and Dhaka, including other technical AAP actors:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advisory and technical support:
∎ Facilitate a rapid self-assessment by current sectors on their AAP practices throughout the programme cycle to measure current performance against global commitments.
∎ Development and dissemination of tools, provide technical guidance and promote practices, including context-specific best practices, that facilitate integration/ implementation of AAP standards and principles in the humanitarian programme cycle, e.g. supporting the Joint Multi-
∎ Sector Needs Assessments (or equivalent) to ensure questions are suitable to provide actionable information to guide decision-making, and that the findings of these assessments are reflected in the Joint Response Plans, and the sector operational plans that are developed from these.
∎ Provide technical support to the sectors and their partner organizations on a range of AAP issues.
∎ Coordination:
∎ Initiate, convene, facilitate, and coordinate an AAP task force (or equivalent) and connect sectors/partners with appropriate technical organizations/entities with expertise on AAP.
∎ Facilitate the development of a results-based AAP action plan with tangible outcomes, to improve collective AAP, through a consultative and transparent manner to build trust and generate buy-in.
∎ Cooperate with the Steering Committee of the Common Feedback Platform (CFP) on issues of common interest.
∎ Engage with regional and global stakeholders/coordination fora to exchanges updates, and gather learnings, good practices, and technical resources.
∎ Representation:
∎ Serve as a primary focal point on AAP -related issues across the humanitarian operation, ensuring that decision-makers have access to high-quality data and analysis on the views and perceptions of community members, for ensuring that this is a high agenda item in decision-making forums, and for tracking the results and follow up on this input.
∎ Actively participate in the Inter-Sector Meeting (and other coordination fora, when necessary) and present key AAP issues/concerns and potential solutions.
∎ Capacity building:
∎ Assess AAP capacity within the response and establish contextualized skill building approaches following globally available AAP resources.
∎ Build capacity of partners in AAP with emphasis on participatory approaches and tools. Through the Capacity Sharing Initiative (CSI) engage with government stakeholders to promote a common understanding and value of AAP.
∎ Participate in on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring activities at regional/global levels to strengthen experience and knowledge on AAP.
∎ Collaboration with the PSEA network:
∎ Support the PSEA network in identifying community preferences for feedback channels, including for sensitive issues; mapping existing complaint and feedback channels, establishing additional channels if needed.
∎ Develop a harmonized approach for capacity building and sensitization for humanitarian stakeholders about issues relating to AAP and PSEA linkage.
∎ Support the design of a context-appropriate community engagement strategy that informs the community about risks and codes of conduct for aid workers, building community trust in feedback and complaints mechanisms, and informing the community about SEA survivor assistance packages, etc.
∎ Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Two years' work experience in the humanitarian sector, with strong emphasis in advocacy and mainstreaming.
∎ Demonstrable experience in coordinating multi-stakeholders to achieve common goals in humanitarian settings, in particular in developing and implementing AAP and/or community engagement strategies.
∎ Experience in building consensus, trust and brokering partnerships.
∎ A good understanding of information management (including data flows, protection and analysis), as well as qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
∎ Contextual knowledge and experience of working in the Rohingya Refugee response will be an advantage.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
∎ Excellent one to one and group communication /information presentation skills
∎ Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a challenging and highly fluid environment, flexibility, and the ability to handle constant change.
∎ Knowledge and or experience in Cox's Bazar is an added value.
