Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Implementation and management responsibilities of Business Development training, technical and business development support to MSMEs
∎ Leads the selection, assessment, training and business planning for the MSMEs in coordination with the technical team, consultants and project partners
∎ Development and track MSMEs status, capacities, challenges using a scoring tool for the selected businesses to graduate
∎ Provide mentoring and coaching to grant recipients and help improve productivity and profitability of selected businesses.
∎ Ensure close coordination with private sector, businesses and value chain actors, analyze business models and financial information, determine appropriate products and services, and collaborate with the private sector partners/representatives at the field level to ensure the effective implementation of interventions/grants.
∎ Oversee/supervise the activities implemented by the private sector partners.
∎ Identify opportunities to develop inclusive new partnerships
∎ Plan with regional leads and guide the field staffs during field implementation of different activities
∎ Networking with local government agencies and associations like DLS, Women's Affairs Department, youth club, Public Health and Nutrition, Private Sectors, Market actors, other associations and Partner Organizations at the district/Upazila level.
∎ Act as a Key person to coordinate with Activity Team leads, Field coordinators, technical specialists, and government and private sectors at the district level.
∎ Organize meetings, training, seminars, and workshops when necessary/relevant.
∎ Arrange visits, workshops, rallies, fairs, seminars, Training, cultural shows etc., at district/Upazila/community level.
∎ Perform other tasks related to the project as assigned by the Supervisors.
∎ Work as a focal person in the region to coordinate private-sector engagement initiatives to increase livestock productivity.
∎ Link the private sector with Local Service Providers whenever needed.
∎ Provide feedback to the MSD Team to improve field-level implementation under the partnerships
∎ Assist in district-level planning on Private Sector Engagement (PSE) activities in collaboration with private sector firms. Such as- Feeds, Medicine, Ingredients, Biodigesters, dairy processors (large and medium) etc.
∎ Work closely with MSMEs and monitor their marketability approaches.
∎ Identify innovative opportunities in the livestock sector at the field level and transform them into action.
∎ Monthly meeting with regional private sector Partners
∎ Rollout the SBCC activities/interventions at ground level collaboration with MSMEs and private sectors
∎ Support MSMEs to increase sales points and marketing of diversified meat, milk and dairy products in the ground level.
∎ Assist in planning and following up on nutrition-focused activities of the MSMEs and private sectors.
∎ Access to finance
∎ Support and coordinate with district-level Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and Commercial Banks on access to finance activities, facilitate linkage with producers, medium, small and micro-entrepreneurs (MSMEs) and conduct follow up monitoring.
∎ Facilitate the process of empowering youth and women farmers and market actors to promote livestock production and household nutrition.
∎ Assist in implementing recommendations that will be generated from the GYSI study.
∎ Facilitate relevant stakeholders for inclusion of Women, Youth and Social issues across project interventions/ activities.
∎ Assist in conducting different value chain assessments, study, formative research, survey and data collection.
∎ Monitor data collection process of different periodic studies.
∎ Assist/ collect data for regular monitoring and learning.
∎ Coordinate closely with the MEL to ensure adequate project monitoring, CLA data collection, documentation, and reporting.
∎ Support the field team in conducting the market assessment, collecting field data and preparing summary reports for the respective district..
∎ JOB SUMMARY:
∎ The MSME Support Specialist will support the Livestock and Nutrition Activity Team Leads in all aspects of program implementation in the field and assist in program management. S/he will work with the senior management team, short term technical assistant (STTA), volunteers, as well as partner organizations, private firms, and Government departments in the local level (e.g. DLS, BLRI, Public Health and Nutrition, BSCIC, BSTI, Department of Women Affairs, Department of Youth Development, Social Welfare LGI, Union Parishad and so on) to provide continuing technical implementation support at field level. The Senior Field Coordinator is the primary point of contact for the Livestock and Nutrition Activity of ACDI/VOCA Bangladesh at the District level.
∎ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Manage Major responsibilities might be:
