Responsibilities & Context:

Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital is reputed private hospital in northern part of Bangladesh. We are looking for immediate recruitment for the above post and inviting applications for its “Normal Delivery Unit”

  • A Community Skilled Birth Attendant (CSBA) is a specifically trained, government-certified health worker—typically a Family Welfare Assistant (FWA) or Health Assistant (HA)—who has received six months of training to provide maternal and newborn care, primarily at the community and household level.

  •  The CSBA acts as a crucial link in health system to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality by offering services. 

    • The core job description includes- 

      • Providing routine ANC, including check-ups, monitoring blood pressure, testing urine for albumin, and monitoring fetal health.

      • Educating pregnant women on nutrition, danger signs during pregnancy, and birth preparedness.

      • Administering tetanus toxoid vaccination and iron/folic acid supplements.

      • Conducting safe and clean deliveries at the household level in rural areas.

      • Monitoring the progress of labor and managing normal vaginal deliveries.

      • Using partographs to monitor labor, if trained.

      • Providing essential newborn care, including immediate drying, warming, and breastfeeding initiation.

      • Monitoring the mother and newborn for complications in the immediate postpartum period.

      • Identifying high-risk pregnancies and complications (e.g., eclampsia, prolonged labor, heavy bleeding) and referring them to higher-level facilities.

      • Providing family planning counseling and services.

      • Maintaining records of antenatal, delivery, and postnatal cases, and submitting reports.

      • Carry out other related duties as and when assigned by the Management.
