Responsibilities & Context:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products by regulatory requirements and company policies.
Develop and validate microbiological test methods, including sterility testing, endotoxin testing, microbial enumeration, Antimicrobial efficacy test and microbial identification.
Conduct environmental monitoring of manufacturing facilities to detect and prevent microbial contamination.
Investigate microbial contamination incidents or deviations from established procedures, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and other relevant regulatory standards.
Train and mentor junior laboratory personnel on microbiological testing techniques and procedures.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all microbiological testing activities, including test results, procedures, and investigations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality unit, and regulatory affairs, to support product development and regulatory submissions.
Stay abreast of industry trends, developments, and regulatory requirements related to microbiology and pharmaceutical quality control.
