The Medical Officer – Wound Care (Female) will provide evidence-based medical care for patients with acute, chronic, post-operative, burn, trauma, diabetic, and complex wounds. She will perform clinical assessments, formulate treatment plans, monitor healing progress, and ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care under established clinical protocols.

She will independently manage wound dressings, assist in advanced wound care procedures, and support consultants during surgical interventions. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, ordering appropriate investigations, prescribing medications within institutional guidelines, and ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.

The Medical Officer will educate patients and caregivers on wound care, infection prevention, nutrition, medication adherence, pressure off-loading, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal healing. She will coordinate care with surgeons, physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

She will strictly adhere to infection prevention and control policies, maintain aseptic techniques during all procedures, report adverse events, and actively participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.

The role also requires participation in ward rounds, emergency wound management, home care services (when assigned), Continuing Medical Education (CME), clinical research, departmental meetings, and community awareness activities. The Medical Officer will uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and patient-centered care while performing any additional responsibilities assigned by the Consultant or Hospital Management.
