Education:
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • MBBS degree with valid BMDC license to practice is essential.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: The staff health medical doctor is to ensure staff well-being, safety in the field, and optimal performance by proving health services such as sick leave management, medical re-evaluation if needed to reduce absenteeism, preventative care, vaccinations, health education, and support for managing work-related health issues.

Position will be based in Camp 15 with frequent movements in Camp 14 and Coordination Office in Ukhiya.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sick Leave Oversight & Medical Assessment: Review sick leave certificates, conduct staff medical assessments when required, maintain confidential records, provide health guidance, and escalate complex cases to the Medical Coordinator.

  • Medical Reimbursement & Documentation: Assess and validate staff medical reimbursement requests for clinical justification, coordinate with HR for timely processing, and handle all related documentation with strict confidentiality.

  • Occupational Health & Safety Response: Manage workplace health concerns including injuries, exposures, and PEP follow-up, document incidents, and support preventive actions like staff vaccination and risk mitigation.

  • Referral & External Care Guidance: Guide staff to appropriate public or private healthcare services, maintain an updated list of reliable providers, and ensure that external care meets ethical and clinical standards.

  • Preventive Health & Staff Education: Oversee staff vaccination compliance, emergency supply readiness, conduct staff health briefings and refresher sessions, and lead awareness campaigns on seasonal and public health risks.

  • Mental Health Coordination & Support: Collaborate with the Staff Psychologist to provide integrated mental health support, refer cases respectfully, and ensure full confidentiality and privacy for affected staff.

  • Monitoring, Reporting & Health Trends: Monitor patterns in illnesses, absenteeism, and occupational hazards, prepare regular analytical reports with recommendations, and support the design of preventive strategies.

  • Emergency Response & Availability: Ensure presence across coordination and project sites, remain available after hours for urgent health issues, and provide timely advice, referral, or intervention as per MSF’s staff health framework.

  • Policy Compliance, Medical Ethics & Coordination: Promote adherence to the MSF Staff Health Policy, coordinate with supervisors and HR on policy matters, report any breaches, and uphold strict standards of medical ethics and confidentiality.
